This map has deliberately been made not to-scale ;) As I stated in my previous post, I'm happy to do one to-scale, but it wlil look very different. For instance, Avaerilon itself as it appears here isn't massively bigger than Luxembourg-Belgium, per se, but in reality it is around twice the size of the EU.

How difficult would it be for you to make a to-scale map?

The hardest part as I can see it would be the borders between nations, because it would be very hard to maintain shape of nation A if it has four nations around it (B,C,D,E), assuming A had scale of 100%, B of 20%, C of 268%, D of 1000%, and E of 12% in relation to how they are depicted on the general regional map. Disrupting those shapes would annoy quite a few nations who have built their own cannons and RP on the representation they are used to. It wouldn't affect nations that are islands or archipelagos that much, but with landlocked nations especially, they might feel a little aggrieved at any drastic changes.
That said, I would support such a project, and certainly feel it warrants further discussion at the least

Hi Avaerilon, I'd like to be added to the regional map if possible! My nation is The Democratic Republic of The Island of The Dragon. Here are my directions, hope they make sense.
Where in the region you'd like your nation to be located: plot #9, please.
Where your capital city is: In the middle of the whole region, there are three islands, I would like to have my capital on the northern half of the western island of the three Where, if you like, your major cities (up to 7) are located: 1) Within the central set of three islands, the northern island should have a major city; 2) On the mainland, near, but not on the western border; 3) On the southernmost tip of the mainland, near the center of the mainland; 4) Northwest of City number 3, just off the coast, about half-way in between city number 2 and city number 3; 5 and 6) Two cities on the two largest islands in the set of western islands, farthest from the mainland; 7) A city on the one easternmost island.
If you have a metropolis area (those large red areas with the black squares and/or circles within): none
If you have any rivers, and if so, where they are: A river starting at the border between Amatores Vitae (near the center) and branching out to have one branch to go through city 4 and the other branch to go halfway between city 3 and the eastern border. One more river (in the west of the mainland) going from the border to the ocean but taking a curvy and somewhat indirect path.
If you have any mountains, and if so, where they are: Border with Amatores Vitae
If you have any woodland or forest, and if so, where that is The following types of woodland or forest are shown on the map:
Deciduous (trees that lose their leaves in winter- e.g. oak, sycamore, birch): In the northern side of the mainland, except the northwestern part
Coniferous (trees that stay green throughout- e.g. pines): Northwestern part of the mainland
Tropical (trees that are comparable to those found in places such as the Amazon): All the islands
Mediterranean (foliage, including scrub and herbs, that would be found in Southern Europe): Coastal and middle (in between mountains and coast) regions of mainland
Please let me know if you have any questions and thanks for being the cartographer!

How difficult would it be for you to make a to-scale map? Basically it boils-down to what Kanoria said. I'd be of a mind to leave out any nations that didn't participate as such (i.e. in signing-up for being a part of a scale map). Practically it would take me a while, but I could definitely do it.

There could be another way around it, though very un-cannon, and that would be to have 'blank space' or 'SLU-administered buffer zones between nations', perhaps even made up fake nations for COL reasons in order to preserve space and size. and thus also allowing rivers to meet as they should etc. It is still disruptive to peoples cannons where they have agreed to share borders, but potentially less so.
Not sure if any of that offers any good ways around it, but I felt it worth mentioning.

Ava, Can you please add this city back to my country? When I asked you to edit it the first time I just wanted you to move the city slightly, not delete it entirely. Thanks!

Post by Cere Thi on May 22, 2017 11:58:08 GMT
Greetings Avaerilon. The Republic of Cere Thi would like to kindly request it's addition to the regional map. The application is hereby filled in below,
Where in the region you'd like your nation to be located : Plot 62.
Where your capital city is : Southwest, bordering the coastline.
Where, if you like, your major cities (up to 7) are located : Just three, at your discretion. Wherever you find demographically soothing.
If you have a metropolis area (those large red areas with the black squares and/or circles within)- a metropolis is not a metropolitan area like a conurbation or greater city, but a gigantic city larger than any that currently exist IRL : None.
If you have any rivers, and if so, where they are : Again, at your discretion. Just one long torrent would be nice.
If you have any major (i.e. really massive) lakes, and if so, where they are : None.
If you have any mountains, and if so, where they are : Northeast, a hilly terrain bordering plot 63 would be nice if possible.
If you have any woodland or forest, and if so, where that is
The following types of woodland or forest are shown on the map:
Deciduous (trees that lose their leaves in winter- e.g. oak, sycamore, birch)
Coniferous (trees that stay green throughout- e.g. pines) : Yes please, a vibrant lush around the hilly terrain.
Tropical (trees that are comparable to those found in places such as the Amazon) : None.
Mediterranean (foliage, including scrub and herbs, that would be found along Southern Europe) : None.
Thank you for all the hard work and masterful artistry.

Hi,
I would like to claim plot number 42 for the Republic of Courelli.
My capital city is situated on the bay directly under the number 42.
My only major city (so far) is located at the westernmost tip. Feel free to add another city or two.
Other than that, it's up to you. Just one request: I like rivers; please add them liberally.
Thank you!

Hi Ava, sorry to be evil. Can you, on the next update, update my nation's map, just because due to historical fear of colonial powers, large parts of the nation was kept off maps, so I just thought now was the time to undo that. If it's not too much trouble, can you please make Harndon look something like this? Thanks again

Thanks for the apps, everyone- I'll get working on those today! Where in the region you'd like your nation to be located : Plot 62. Hi Cere Thi! I'm sorry, but I can't find #62 on the current map. Did you maybe mean another plot? It may be you were looking at a now outdated version of the map. Or maybe I'm just being slow today xD

I have added the cities but if it's okay can you freehand the rest of it. Also I'm Spanish based nation so I suppose you could base it on Spanish climate, etc. if you think that's best. Thanks in advance! :)

Can you add a few stripes of tropical forest and pine forest to my megacity? They should be fairly sparse and disconnected, as well as not being perfectly straight. Also, wherever there is deciduous forest, except on the northernmost island, could you alternate the deciduous forest with tropical forest? And one last request: can you add a small island to the middle of my largest lake. It should be tropical forest, be covered in mountains, and have a small lake on it towards the eastern end. Thanks.

Well, let me say I'm very sorry for the humongous delay! I had the ill fortune to travel back home, where there is less internet than Sean Spicer/Theresa May/a week old wine gum has sense. Yes. I'm back in the Netherlands now, with actual internet xD Updated everyone who provided info et al. Keep those requests coming!
---MAP CHANGELOG 12/08/17--- 3.7.9.4: Edited Hirematia, added 5 new nations (size of bmp: 245 MB)
NOTE: The text font for some nation is different. This is due to a Windows reinstall and the loss of certain fonts. These will be regained in the near future and the differing font corrected to the original to ensure map consistency.

Ovandera Where in the region you'd like your nation to be located Plot 11 Where your capital city is Under the 11 marker (reference on map) (Map): imgur.com/a/il8WtWhere, if you like, your major cities (up to 7) are located (reference on map) If you have a metropolis area (those large red areas with the black squares and/or circles within)- a metropolis is not a metropolitan area like a conurbation or greater city, but a gigantic city larger than any that currently exist IRL. Nope If you have any rivers, and if so, where they are I'm basing my Geography around existing imagery, so the southern portion of my nation is going to be higher in Elevation. The River already drawn in I would like to branch into another major tributary flowing towards my coast. If possible I would like some smaller rivers to break away from the tributary before it reaches the coast and for them to sprawl near the northern portion of my nation. If you have any major (i.e. really massive) lakes, and if so, where they are None If you have any mountains, and if so, where they are The far south would have a continuation of the major mountain range already present on other nations If you have any woodland or forest, and if so, where that is the northern portion is going to be almost entirely Coniferous, alongside the far south, ending slightly before the Capitol, and transferring into deciduous as you travel down into the far-northern river area

I went ahead and added the capital (star) and a few major cities (square) imgur.com/d5fETjCYou can go ahead and freestyle the rest if it's possible. The only thing that I ask is for mountains to be along the bottom right/right border of the nation. Thanks.

Hi, I was wondering if I could maybe get plot 80? ( I am a small nation at the moment, but I wanted to get this plot as soon as possible since it's my favourite )
Although I am at the moment too small for a capital city, when I do get one it would be right around the middle. Major city locations aren't needed as there are none. There aren't any metropolis areas as of now. There is a river/lake acting as the land border, it isn't too wide but it is long enough to almost surround the country with water. There are mountains to the south, only a few in a group, and they are rounded off at the top. Large Deciduous forests surround the river/lake all the way around.
Also, is it possible for you to change the map when I get a capitial and major cities? And do I need to name my capitial now even though I don't have one? Because if I do have to name it now, I've already decided on Dia as the name. Hopefully I gave enough information, I can't really do any sort of art so I had to explain it all.

Hi Crysinia, I am replying here as Ava, the OP, who used to be responsible for the map has been inactive for quite some time in regards to it.
Due to that fact, I am currently working on (and will eventually actually do some work on) a new map for our region. As and when I publish this, I will happily add you to it.
To avoid any further disappointment of this nature I will lock this thread. Hopefully I will provide a new one in the near future.
