The SLU Linguistic Map

Hi again everyone.

I've wanted to chart the different languages of the region for some time now, since not only is it interesting, but it offers an insight into the diversity of our region.

Not sure what the map will look like? Here's an example of Avaerilon's languages.

We can assume that where two colours meet, the languages mix. If you only have one language, that is perfectly fine. All you need to do is tell me:

1. What language(s) is/are spoken in your nation
2. Where in your nation (either a very detailed description of "where" or by doing me a basic map; in .png format, preferably)

We will end up with a complete picture of different cultures, as well as being able to note linguistic similarities and the suchlike. It also keeps me amused ;D

N.B. I will also be classifying languages; e.g. English, German, Gothic (Germanic); French, Italian, Spanish (Latinate); Welsh, Cornish, Manx (Celtic); etc. If you have a fictional language, give me the classification. For instance, I have Sindarin and Dunmeri under "Elvish."

People in my nation speak Francish. Francish is a mix of French and English, so I guess the classification would be Germanic-Latinate.

The language of Azerzia is 'Azerzian'. Each island has a distinct dialect.
Stegol speaks Stegolian
Nymela speaks Nymelan
Bekaln and Lezit speaks Bekalnish
Reolm speaks Reolmian
Arkan and Nierta speak Arkani
Taria speaks Tarian

Losel and Keshr speak the languages of their home kingdoms, but are mostly pidgin in dialect. The language and dialects are classified as Western Altabeshan.

There are three main Languages in the federation Alumnite=a form of Latin type speech. Spoken by native alumnites as a first language. Slœvēc=similar to the east europian languages on earth. The "business" language of the federation, a second language of most who do not speak it as a first language. High/low gothic=spoken by few fluently although many phrases remain, still an option in schools. Previous language of the federation when earth was in it's early medieval age, it is made up of symbols completely different from earth alphabets. 

All of these are spoken in the federations territory on earth and extra-terrestrial area in no particular concentration. There many other languages from the other allied worlds, but these are generally spoken only by members of the respective race.

Goncar is very linguistic. We speak 5 languages,
1. English
2. Spanish/Portuguese
3. French
4. Russian
5. Chinese

To clarify, the map shows NATIVE languages spoken by the overwhelming majority in an area. I am sure many nations, like ours, have many people who study and speak foreign languages, but the map intends to show the national languages of the SLU. Therefore, you need to ensure that you give me your native language(s), their family (if not a real language), and the location within your nation. Failure to do so will result in your nation not being included on the map.

I edited mine slightly to obey that better. Also the Slœvēc language is the one of the two official languages of the federation and has it's origins from the north of the mainland on Pegasus (core world). It is technically not a forign language and is spoken by the majority fluently.

omg im so sorry ive been so inactive but Narglandia speaks Nargish, English, and Gaelic.

Are these native languages, Narg? And I take it it's Irish that's spoken (since Gaelic is the branch)? I also need to know where these are spoken.

Welsh and English

Which is native? And where are they spoken in Cemaes?

Welsh is spoken in the northern half and predominantly around the Preseli Mountains. English whilst spoken by all, is the predominant language in the bottom of the half of the country.

Mermaid and English are the native languages. Mermaid is found more predominantly along the coast, with English in the surrounding land.

Er... first of all, you're breaking FLAVA by writing in a language other than English inappropriately. Second of all, which language is this? You really need to read the first post on the first page of this thread, THEN tell me about your language(s).

Oh my gosh, I am SO SORRY! That was supposed to be Epemazic, our language. It is radically different from any other language in the world. There is no language like it, so it falls under its own classification, Epemazic. It is spoken all over our territory.

Ok. Well, you need to be on the Regional Map, first of all. Secondly, you do need to at least invent a branch from which Epemazic comes from.
