Sender: The Foreign Ministry of Avaerilon Recipient: People's Commissar Bryan Dear People's Commissar Bryan, I was alarmed to hear of the Council Republic's position. As you well know, Avaerilon wishes for no disturbance to come to the vein. We believe that military action in the vicinity of the water would be equally damaging to the environment, and may well superficially disturb the vein. After intensive research, Avaerilon can conclude that the vein, if mined or disturbed by construction, would not only pollute the surrounding water to a intolerable level for sea life up to 300 miles away, but that Avaerilon's famous beaches in the south-west would have their environments compromised. Furthermore, earthquakes measuring up to 6.7 on the Richter Scale have a 1/6 chance of occurring, should the vein be mined. The possibility for a tsunami is worrying. As a result, we do not believe fellow nations in our region will attempt to plead the case for mining the vein. We also note with substantial gratitude the position of the Christian Conglomerate, who have retracted their claims to the vein and will instead mine on planets they control. Avaerilon has now submitted a formal claim to this vein as a Zone of Special Scientific Interest, and the Patrician Lord Havelock Vetinari will be sailing to the vein to claim it on behalf of His Most Royal Majesty The King. We ask the Council Republic to down arms and stand-down. As we feel there is no danger to the vein now, we also feel that there is no need to use one's military to defend it on environmental grounds. Furthermore, the unsolicited presence of North American military craft would violate the sovereignty of the vein, which now may be considered Avaerilonian territory. As a fellow founding-member of NATO, we plead with our close friends in North American Republics to cease military mobilisation in the area. Please find enclosed a basic map of our claims. Yours respectfully, Iago Penderyn,Minister of Foreign Affairs, Avaerilon

Newhalla is relived to hear that a solution to this problem is underway. We would still like to point out that newhalla only interest is in the underwater dome that narg proposed.
Greetings from the swedish parlament.

Avaerilon will dismantle the foundations in an environmentally-sensitive way and recycle the materials, as per usual.

No non no no no. You don't get it. To save thousands of divers, the only way to make room was to drop thefoundations and they are now sinking.

These are recourses that could have devastating repercussions should we extract ore. What do we need a research base under the ocean to study rocks for? Seems like a waste of our own resources to gain none. I'd leave the area alone or use research vessels to minimize the chance of an earthquake off our coast.

We are beginning to question the safety of these waters and believe that a needless resource war isn't far off. In response, the aircarrier dauntless is en route and will arrive in two hours. We will disable any aggressive forces.
Btw it's an airship.

Newhalla express our concern of Equum sending military ships to the vein and that this will only cause more complications to a already complicated matter. we suggest that Narg,Avaerlion and possible NAR shall resolve this crisis for them self and that other nations that doesn't have any interest in the vein sit back and don't interfere.

Direct Message from The Grand Federation in regard to Region Conflict
Hello my fellow leaders, I will begin by pointing out that this conflict has escalated wartime readiness, resulting in widespread fear over a possible war. Let me remind you that we all share common beliefs and have similar political freedoms, creating this liberal world we live in.
Narglandia went too far too fast by preparing to build a large underwater mining base, however they saw this and have since scuttled and abandoned the idea. In the meen time, North American Republics and Equum have sent warships to the zone of interest.
Reviewing the stances of our major powers, we all want environmental stability and a preserved vein that can be researched to prevent catastrophe before its too late.
I propose we drop a barrier over the space of the vein to preserve it for observational research while preventing physical exploration and/ or exploitation. We will supply such a barrier and deploy it in front of attending armed forces provided after initialization all armed forces disperse.
We will keep public records updated of all activity our barrier blocks. We will do our best to not impede sea life movement as well by devoting a team to constantly monitor the barrier and it's set negatives.
We of the Grand Federation only hope of a solution that does not involve loss of life. Such a solution over gold that involves weapons has been voted utterly unacceptable.

I got it. We need some kind of ship to get down there to stop the incredibly slow giant peices of metal from hitting the bottom of the ocean.

To: President Paisley of the E.A.F From: People's Commissar Bryan Esteemed leader, The action taken by your government while the NARan blockade was still officially in place has led to an increase in hostilities. Your airship was brought down through a concentrated effort by five of our ships, the airship sunk one of our battleships. The Workers' National Council has convened and decided to officially withdraw the blockade of the area and has also decided to declare war upon Equum Alatum for their attempted penetration of the blockade zone. Our militias and reserves have been mobilized, our airplanes are fueled, and our ships are stocked. War is upon us! Signed,

The Grand Federation will immediately place a barrier above the gold deposit to block access as well as disintegrate falling debris from Narglandia's base program to prevent environmental catastrophe.
The Grand Federation condemns N.A.R. and E.A.F. For sending military units to the site under orders to attack any other armed vessel, rather than self defense, as this has sparked a war.

The Allied States of Newhalla suggest that all parties needs to meet on a neutral country (we suggest Ainland). North American Republics,Avaerlion,Goncar,Narg,Michutopia and Newhalla must meet and peacefully settle this. If we faul then more lives will be lost.

Sender: The Foreign Ministry of Avaerilon Recipient: The Leaders of the Social Liberal Union Dear Leaders, Avaerilon is concerned that our neighbours do not recognise Avaerilonian sovereignty over the deposit. Furthermore, we fail to see why other nations feel they have to get involved in what is now our own affair. The deposit has now been claimed by our nation and is protected under a Zone of Special Scientific Interest, thus preventing anyone at all (even our own government) from mining or otherwise disturbing the vein. We do not wish for any other nation at all to assist us with the matter of recovering the debris from the platform which was scuttled. We have already taken 87% of it away, and expect to have it fully-removed from the sea within 24 hours. We already had in-place a kevlar net to prevent material from hitting the coral beneath. We wish to confirm that no structures will be built in the area, for fear of creating a seismic disturbance. As such, no vessels of any kind are needed to assist us, nor do we permit them entry in the SSI Zone until such a time as when we believe the region has cooled-down over the while issue sufficiently. Any vessel that does enter the SSI Zone will be therefore violating our sovereignty, as well as the environmental protection laws we have put-in place. Yours sincerely, Iago Penderyn,Minister of Foreign Affairs, Avaerilon

Also, which do you guys think was right? Scuttling the foundations or leaving thousands of divers to die? PS Avaerilon has been commended in the fact that they have cleaned up the debris. We also thank Michutopia for the shield.

Its not that we think you need help Avaerlion but the fact that a war has started whit the vein as a cause for this war. Already has over 2000 people died in this STUPID war. All of this is on NAR and Equum hands. We fear that a further escalation is imminent and that more lives will be lost during the coming days. So its more of a peace negotiations.

Should this conflict risk invasions the Grand Federation is constantly monitoring the region so any attacks on non military installations will warrant us to take actions to ensure peace. We invited major leaders to Michelsen Prime's SLU Conference hall to find a solution before such actions will be needed.

N-SIC Chief Admiral Mar parangosky will represent Newhalla in the summit in Michelsen Prime's SLU Conference hall as we deemed that it is to dangerous to have our head in chief to travel for the time being.

Our airship was under orders to attack "aggressive" forces. They would not have attacked first, we were moving simply as observers. We are angered by the NARan action but will not invade. The NARan invasion is overkill and technically their fault as they destroyed our airship with the loss of most hands aboard. We will take only defensive action!

To: President Paisley From: People's Commissar Bryan Esteemed leader, It does not matter whether or not the craft was sent as an observer. We had warned against any intrusion to the restricted zone we created, yet your nation sent the airship over anyways. Any access into the restricted zone would have to be approved by the NARan shipping officials, whose permission you did not seek first. Technically, while it is us who started the blockade, you escalated the situation through your actions. Signed,

We apologise for not seeking permission first. We assumed as an uninterested party, that observing the "powder keg", per say, situation we would remain unmolested. However, we are angered by your troops presence as there was definitely no warning of an invasion if the an attempt was made to bypass the blockade. We request the immediate removal of your forces on Alumnite soil.
