1:23am, 5/25/12 Glorious Leader Andrew Rey has signed the long awaited Executive [EO] 6 very early this morning, defying international condemnation. It mobilizes all of the North American Republics for war. It makes it a punishable offense for farmers to withhold food items from state collectors. It further brings all factories under state control, for the production of war materiel. It also establishes mandatory military service for all people ages 18 to 50. This is the greatest piece of legislation to have come under the pen of our great leader. May the people rejoice under the enlightened rule of Andrew Rey! |
1:55am, 5/25/12 Small peasant revolt near Tralis. Military is expected to be able to put it down. We suspect that the revolt was funded by foreign terrorists, possibly funded by the illegitimate government of the former soviet republic. Nothing major is happening. |

11:02pm, 5/31/12 The small peasant revolt has grown and the people involved took over Tralis. More military units are being sent to suppress the uprising against our great federation. We expect these rebels to be brought down. Other copycat uprisings have occurred around other cities and towns. We expect them to calm down after a few days.

From the steps of the Workers' National Council, People's Commissar Bryan had this to say, "...[It] is at times like these that I wish for the world to be a better place. It is a shame that it has not panned out like that. Sad as that may be, we must rebuild, we must push forward and create a better North American Republics as a model for the world! We must give more power to the Revolutionary Guard, the militia groups coordinated by our councils, so that we will not ever have to worry about the bribing of our army ever again! All power to the councils!" when referring to how this situation could be prevented in the future. In other news, the major Leninist group in the North American Republic, Guiding Light, bombed several state facilities in broad daylight, leading to many civilian deaths. The group was already being investigated for accepting foreign cash and with the Francish government confessing that they are involved with the group, the North American Republican government arrested the group's leaders with a trial set for July 12. Rebuilding efforts are being put into full swing by the delegates to the Workers' National Council. At the request of People's Commissar Bryan, the council enacted measures that would place worker cooperatives under state control. Once rebuilding efforts are completed, control over the worker cooperatives will be given back to the workers.

The Land Up North For some time now, the Council Republic of North American Republics has been looking to expand its borders. The island has reached its carrying capacity and more room is needed. People's Commissar Bryan closed his eyes and pointed randomly at the map to decide an appropriate location for half the population of the North American Republics. After several failed attempts at choosing an empty spot (Azerzia was picked twice, Michutopia once, Millyland was picked seven times), his finger finally settled on the southern portion of the relatively bare island south of the mainland of Logres. The shape of the land in the southern portion of that island is a perfect natural harbor, and its location is right in the center of the Social Liberal Union. The Land-For-Us scheme that People's Commissar Bryan approved of saw applicants turned away mere hours after the announcement because the settler quota was reached. About 500 million people are expected to migrate to the southern portion of the island from the North American Republics in the next few years, as housing development expands and jobs are created for the settlers. This location also brings the North American Republics closer to its ally, the Incredibly Nice Kingdom of Avaerilon, and can serve as a base for NATO operations. Update: Landing crafts successfully landed on the island up north. The landing crafts were steered a bit further up the coast of the island by ocean currents, but no one was injured or killed. Several new colonies were set up on the peninsula Pont de Roche and the housing project that was being developed to the south has been moved up north. We expect our economy to grow as a result of accessing more resources for our industries. Foiled Coup D'Etat In other news, the hunt continues for the traitors who attempted to overthrow the governments of the Social Liberal Union and impose an authoritarian socialist regime in our great nation. NARSA officials proposed the use of experimental satellite technology to track the offenders in the forest, but they were laughed out of the Workers' National Council.

Embassy Applications For the first time in North American Republican history, an official embassy program was created for the sole purpose of exchanging embassies between our state and others in the region. So far, only Millyland and Newhalla have submitted an application for an embassy, although Millyland withdrew his application after he submitted the incorrect application. The Newhallan application has since been accepted and the embassy will be open soon. We expect new applications to be submitted within the next few days. Trade Talks Begin The Council Republic of North American Republics opened up trade talks with the Incredibly Nice Kingdom of Avaerilon for manufacturing material, namely coal and iron ore. We expect it to boost industrial production in our country tenfold.

Helping a friend The Workers' National Council met late last night to hear and vote on an emergency measure proposed by People's Commissar Bryan. No reaction is know yet from the general populace, as most are asleep, but one late night partier had this to say, "WOOOO! That was sooo f[bleep]g awesome! Yo, you shoulda been at that party! When he calmed down enough to talk to us, he was asked what he thought about this late night proposal, "Yo, he wants to help out a friend, right? So whatever and stuff. Maybe we can get more, like, goods and stuff from Grolsch when they are free. You know, we could even, like, build their country or something, make it some sort of left-wing utopia or some s[bleep]. Viva la revolution or something!"People's Commissar Bryan's proposal calls for the immediate militarization of the North American Republican economy in order to rearm the council militias and prepare the navy for a several day voyage to Grolsch to return order. It further declares that the government of President Dontu Marr-Jinsky is the only legitimate government of Grolsch. This proposal comes merely weeks after the general cessation of hostilities on our island, which was a result of the same Leninist factions that took control over key portions of the state military. It is believed that North American Republics will remain safe while the liberation effort is ongoing.

Preparing the troops With troop preparations on-going and the small Leninist guerrilla groups being easily suppressed on the outskirts of the capital city, People's Commissar Bryan is gearing up. He is expected to lead the liberation effort from the forefront. This is not unprecedented, as leaders in our relatively short history have always gone into combat during an important war. Workers around the North American Republics have been working diligently to manufacture the necessary military supplies for our troops. Crates upon crates of Kasinov 10 rifles and 0.22 caliber rounds are being shipped out to the few military bases on the island. We expect the North American Republican military to be fully armed and ready for combat by tomorrow. The liberation of Grolsch will begin!

National Emergency A northern city on Pont de Roche is under siege today by traitorous elements of the 3 rd Pont de Roche Militia. Its leader, a decorated military official by the name of Randy Toomal, is calling for the complete takeover of Pont de Roche and for complete secession from North American Republics. No other demands have been submitted as of the writing of this bulletin. People's Commissar Bryan has stated that such action can only be met with anger. The fact that militiamen are being turned against the very people they are supposed to protect is very frightening. People's Commissar Bryan is calling for a regional arbitration effort to stop the siege and work on a compromise. The Workers' National Council is currently debating the need for Pont de Roche as a territory of North American Republics, but no significant headway has been made.
