Presidential statement:
Dear people of NAR, and the people of the region,
We come before you today to ask for your assistance during our time of trouble. Separatist rebels have formed a secessionist state with an oligarchy at its head and will raze the capital-in-construction to the ground. We need military or economic assistance in order to combat the threat facing us, which is why we are calling on all of the people in our region to support our democratically elected council and presidents, and we plead, once again, that any able-bodied citizens grab any arms you may have and head to a recruitment center.
This is a very serious issue and we don't have much time to spare. We must act quickly to face this threat, or else our country will split with no way of putting it back together. There is nothing else to say except good luck to our citizens at the front fighting and good day.

International President addresses the people of the PRNAR:
"A blight has struck the people of Blackacre and the Northern SLU states. A fog of radioactivity and disease is devastating portions of Blackacre and is menacing the people of Michutopia, Maxtopia, and Powro, although it is contained for the most part. We the people of NAR must lend whatever support we can to the people in the north, especially Michutopia who helped us in our greatest challenge up to this date. We still give many thanks to them for helping reunite our nation and suppress the secessionist right-wing state.
I have introduced today to delegates in our Worker's National Council a plan for helping Michutopia. Our leading scientists have created a radiation suppressing agent that we hope surpasses the nanobots being used currently. In my plan, I ask that these radiation suppressors be offered to all states affected, or may be affected, free of charge. My plan also contains tax incentives to promote production in our worker's cooperatives of both this suppressor and, if the plans for the nanobots are secretly released to NAR engineers, the nanobots. I hope our workforce is up for the challenge presented and that member nations of our region accept our offer. Thank you and good night."
In short, the International President's plan includes tax incentives for worker's cooperatives to increase production and a free experimental radiation suppressing agent to attempt to combat radiation.

Government Report (September 9, 1): - The "Regional Assistance Plan" (or RAP) was passed by a total of 2979 delegates approving and 1 disapproving. The one was from Delegate Frank who represents the most isolationist and conservative regions in all of NAR. - Workers all over NAR have taken up our challenge and are now rapidly producing nanobots to contain the fog while scientists from both nations continue to work on a plan to stop the viruses. - NAR scientists have continued developing the agent into both a virus killing agent and a radiation suppressor that can work in conjunction with the nanobots. An idea was brought up an idea about making the virus mutate at such an extraordinary rate that it starts to make mistakes. We ask that Michutopia acquire a sample of viruses, through unmanned means of course, to find a common link between them (the viruses) to target. The utmost care will be taken with the small sample. Government Report (September 19, 1): - Michelle Bawkman has been found and neutralized. Her compound, as shown from across the lake, was infiltrated by NAR Special Infiltration Teams (SITs). Bawkman still had a reserve militia force from the civil war, although it was a small and malnourished force. Bawkman herself went into battle and was shot on sight during the firefight. - We are happy to see the retreat of the radioactive cloud over Blackacre and we were glad to offer the assistance. - Production of tables in our nations factories has exceeded thought. Factories are now responding the overproduction by taking a day off of work in the hopes that the supply will diminish some. Exports of tables has increased. Government Report (October 10, 1):- Poll numbers show decreasing support for the incumbent in our Domestic President election. He is down by twenty-four percentage points.

Revolution
We of the "Council Communist Party" thus forth proclaim a new era in the history of this glorious nation and the establishment of the new Council Republic. The former bourgeois oppressor have been thrown out of office by a militia of workers. A "dictatorship of the proletariat" has begun. The people shall rule shortly as power is moved from the upper echelons of government into councils of workers, farmers, and laborers. We can promise that within a few months, weeks even, the transition will be complete. Even as this is typed, workers everywhere in the nation are celebrating to the tune of L'Internationale.
We have learned of the mistakes of the past and have enforced rigidity in our ranks to facilitate the transition of power. The previous form of government shall be decentralized and the International President shall be retained in the government we are setting up. He showed great promise for the working people of our nation.
The revolution was dreamt of by a prominent philosopher that was jailed for being too extreme. We, as a political party, were banned from elections for a short while too. We thus began to think about revolution. It would be no small feat, that we recognized. Recent events, namely the walk of the undead, have led to our current victory. The actions of the People's Republic had thinned out the forces protecting villages and towns, as well as those of the inner cities. It is in these places that we provided assistance to the local residents. With the total support of even the most conservative parts of our country, we then took power in a coup d'etat.
Fear not members of the region. Revolution will not be fomented in your countries. We shall not support undemocratic measures by the time the councils are ready. Torture will remain illegal under our administration. We thank those who support our actions and we understand those that oppose them. To the latter, you will see that there was nothing to be suspicious about.

The People's Commissar says: Recent voyages by brave NARans have confirmed a great discovery. A resource-rich island to the south-east of our island has been found. There appears to be no natives on the island and so we have claimed it for the glory of the workers.
In other news, the revolution has officially come to an end. The last subversive was tried and found guilty and he now faces life in prison. After a minimum of forty years, the prisoner may choose euthanasia if he so wishes. He is expected to be seventy years of age by that time.
Elections are being planned and will be set for the tenth of November, 2011. We have adopted the region standard for calendar use as it is easier for communication. These elections are for the nation's numerous councils. People's Commissar Bryan will remain at the top post for another month, which is when national elections are set to take place.
------------------------------------------------------ Thank you for listening to your commissar.

The People's Commissar says: The counting and official tallying of the votes has concluded. The Council Communist Party has won 40% of the votes across the nation. The Socialist Labor Party has won 32% of the vote. The People Before Country Party took 27% of the votes. The National Third Way Party, a remnant of the reactionary and fascist elements of the island, took 1%.
The leadership of the Council Communist Party has swayed voters further left than was expected. The Council Communist Party has formed an alliance with the People before Country Party in the hopes that the common issues between the two parties can be solved. The Socialist Labor Party is the new party formed from the members of the old socialist party that ruled.
National elections are scheduled for December 12, 2011. They will decide who will be the council delegates to the Worker's National Council. One-thousand seats are available and if the recent voting is any indication, no party will get a majority. The People's Commissar Bryan is expected to remain in power until the elections end. He has been drafting a new constitution with others in the Council Communist Party and has pledged that there will be no perks for the Council Communist Party. Naturally the Socialist Labor Party has cried foul, but since the People's Commissar was International President under the previous government, their calls for resignation have since come unanswered.
------------------------------------------------------ Thank you for listening to you commissar.

The People's Commissar says: Preparations for the national elections to decide Peoples' Delegates to the Workers' National Council are underway. Voting booths are being set up in all jurisdictions and candidates are rallying for votes. These first crucial voting stages were made compulsory in order to gauge the political stances of NARans.
When these elections are over, the Workers' National Council will vote on adopting the constitution drafted by the People's Commissar Bryan. The People before Country Party has accepted a few general proposals put forth in the constitution, as has the Socialist Labor Party. Socialist Labor Party leaders have quieted down with their criticisms of the People's Commissar Bryan as he has not turned the North American Republics into a one-party dictatorship.
Commissar elections are to be scheduled for January 1st, 2012. Commissars will rule for a total of six months are can be recalled at any time. Delegate elections will be every year and they too can be recalled any time. The People's Commissar has released a portion of the constitution to the SLU Weekly Journal.
------------------------------------------------------ Thank you for listening to you commissar.

The People's Commissar says: Votes have been counted and one group won out big. The Council Communist Party has won a considerable majority with the People Before Country Party cementing the way for a near consensus in the Workers' National Council. The Socialist Labor Party only took 10% of the votes in national elections.
The constitution is now up for debate and a copy will be made available to the Council of Leaders of the SLU.
Commissar elections are still scheduled for January 1st, 2012. Disregard statements made about term length from the previous announcement as things may have been altered.
------------------------------------------------------ Thank you for listening to you commissar.

The People's Commissar says: The constitution has been passed and all political parties are banned. Candidates will now run for office as independents and are eligible for federal funds as per the constitution. The commissar elections are to be held the on 27th of December and the People's Commissar will be sworn in on the first of January.
In other news, Eggy216 declared war on Millyland and after a few heated exchanges between the nations of Goncar and Millyland, the war has expanded to include Eggy216 and Goncar on one side and Millyland on the other. Neighboring nations have reacted with hostility towards either side, yet none have set forth a definitive declaration of war. The CRNAR was almost dragged into a war with the United Kingdom of Avaerilon when their planes crossed NARan airspace. The Avaerilon government has since apologized and tensions between the two countries have cooled.

National Security Announcement: We are sorry that news could not be relayed sooner. The remnants of the Socialist Labor Party has gone up in arms over the recent commissar elections. People's Commissar Bryan won the election by a landslide and former members of the now defunct political party have launched a grand campaign against our democratically elected commissar. New New York was recently under siege by SLP forces, as they have begun to be called, and only after these few bloodshed-filled days was the siege lifted.
A delegate in the Workers' National Council has introduced a measure to allow the commissar emergency powers, but the commissar has stated that he will veto the measure. It is expected to pass the WNC and is expected to go to a national referendum as per the new constitution.
We of the CRNAR ask for aid from our fellow nations in this region. The Council Communist Party took power from the corrupt socialists in the People's Republic of North American Republics and have attempted to create a left-wing utopia in which all citizens are free to vote and do what they will with their own bodies. We have given much political power to councils of citizens and have eliminated the idea of party politics. Fresh ideas are popping up in the Workers' National Council all the time now and poll after poll state that since the revolution, our citizens' lives have never been better. The people of our nation have legitimized our government and we are now seeking any help we can possibly get. The rebels we are faced with now are nothing like those during the early days of our country who attempted to turn us into a right-wing dictatorship. These rebels are better organized, better equipped, and better trained.
We would like to request military assistance from all the nations in the region, loans and resources to sustain our nation, and moral support for our troops on the front lines who will then know that people support them from other nations.
Our nation has been a relatively pacifist one, only warning Millyland, which we now officially rescind, during their war. Our military, while well trained, is quite small, and so once more we plead with all nations in the region to help.

News Update: Advances into enemy territory have been minimal while retreats are becoming less common. Both sides are still battling each other for control over the contested areas of the island. Our soldiers, wherever they have advanced, were treated with celebrations. As troops start advancing into the more conservative west side of the island, they do not expect such joy. SLP support is relatively large in the western half of the island.
Military supplies from Avaerilon have helped alleviate the conditions on the ground for our troops. Both Avaerilon and Grolsch have opened up their banks and treasuries for loans to NAR, but government officials have put any such decisions on standby until the state's own treasury runs out and funds become necessary. People's Commissar Bryan thanks both nations for their support during these dire times.
In other news, the Workers' National Council has passed a temporary emergency power act that establishes a dictatorship (in the Roman sense). The people's commissar has vetoed the measure and the cycle will continue until the people's commissar vetoes the measure a third which is when the measure goes to a national referendum. This will be a relatively limited referendum as much of the country is in rebel hands. Several delegates have already started writing legislation to combat such slowness by providing a measure that can be implemented into any bill that comes up to the Workers' National Council that would allow legislation to go directly to referendum. A bill would have to approved by at least half of the WNC and discussed for a few days before it could be sent for a national referendum.

News UpdatesReports from the front lines have been used to create a preliminary map of the conditions on the ground. SLP (green) is the Socialist Labor Party controlled territory. CRF (red) is the territory supported by the Council Republic Forces. As one can see, much of the western half of the island has been consumed by rebels. Small enclaves exist and are receiving supplies on an hourly basis. The eastern half is mostly controlled by the CRNAR, but there are many contested areas whose borders shift constantly. The capital city port has been invaluable. Contact to and from the rest of the region has come through the ports and channels received in New New York. Supplies are being shipped in daily in order to combat the rebel forces. The rebels have started releasing pictures to the rest of the world for reasons unknown. In other news, the increase in production following the revolt has spurred an economic revival, the CRNAR has come back from the midst of a great depression.

1/5/2012 News Flash The government of Grolsch has accepted our bid for 5 IL-76TD military freighters. They will arrive in 17 days and once they are re-fueled, CRNAR pilots will immediately fly supply missions.
1/8/2012 News Flash Substantial gains have been made on the eastern half of the island. Council Republic Forces have been forced back (advanced in the opposite direction) to key holdouts in order to regroup and recover from battles earlier in the day.
1/15/2012 News Flash After an intense day of fighting, SLP forces have been pushed back and a second bridge has been retaken. More troops are expected to flood across the second opening and we hope for the conflict to end soon.

News Update The Council Republic of North American Republics has declared war upon Equum Alatum. They sent an airship to displace the NARan ships near the gold deposit and NARan privates held firm. The six ships that were sent out to protect the gold deposit concentrated their firepower onto the Equum Alatum's airship and brought it down, but not before the airship was able to launch a barrage of missiles which sank a battleship. The men and women on the ship will be sorely missed, and their sacrifice will only bolster the morale of our troops! Let it be known that they did not die in vain!

This news station has been taken over by the People's Front for Social Liberation (PFSL). There will be no corrupt fascist news being displayed here in the light of the world and in the faces of the people of the North American Republics. The revolution has begun and we will bring the light of true socialism to the people! The army is fully behind us, committed to bringing us to power shortly. We are going to call a meeting of the councils once the Workers' National Council is taken over and we know that they will pledge their allegiance to the now proclaimed Socialist North American Republics! Down with the fascist traitors, down with the class enemies, down with the bourgeoisie!
We know that the people of the region will join us in our union of socialist republics!

The defected elements of the North American Republican Army are currently protecting the gains we have made in the capital. Two regiments are on the march to the Workers' National Council to take over the building for the PFSL and legitimize the Socialist Federation of North American Republics in the eyes of the citizens and the world! We hear word that People's Commissar Bryan has fled the country. He is clearly afraid of the glory of the coming revolution for the better! We shall live long and spread the glories and ideals of socialism and communism around the region!

1:00am, 5/19/12 The reports of the government going into exile are true. The fascist pig has decided to leave our wonderful island and has taken his crony ministers with him. The traitorous government of Avaerilon has accepted these vile beings with open arms. We now know who is enemy number one.
The factions of the military loyal to the People's Front of Social Liberation are continuing their onward march towards the Workers' National Council. Council members are urged to join in on the march and reclaim the council chambers for the people.
|
2:00am, 5/19/12 The troops are facing heavy gang resistance on the march to the capital. Extra reinforcements are being sent to suppress the violence. Sporadic fighting can be seen around the rest of the city as loyal, up-standing, brave citizens fight to remove the fascist pigs from power.
|
6:09am, 5/19/12 Reinforcements arrived on the scene and were able to suppress the gang of miscreants who wished to stop our glorious advance to the Workers' National Council. The march continued and the troops are at its gates!
|
9:40am, 5/19/12 With the Workers' National Council liberated by the combined military and PFSL forces, the People's Front of Social Liberation is now in de facto control over the North American Republics. Several delegates to the national council have joined forces with the PFSL and others are expected to join within the next few hours. The leader of the People's Front of Social Liberation, Andrew Rey, is expected to give a speech proclaiming the completion of the people's revolution in the North American Republics at 10:00am today. Stay tuned to the People's Daily for more news. |
10:37am, 5/19/12 Andrew Rey is no where to be found at this time. We suspect that the terrorists that are the fascist pigs we overthrew have kidnapped him. He was last seen entering a building off 32 Monument Road. We have initiated intense search operations, led by the military forces, to find and kill the kidnappers who have taken our leader hostage. Fear not, people of the North American Republics, we shall prevail! |
12:11pm, 5/19/12 Special forces that defected from that pig's army located and freed Andrew Rey from the kidnappers. The kidnappers have been captured and they will stand trial in the people's court. The fascist North American Republican Regime will fall to the hands of the will of the people! The Socialist Federation of North American Republics will triumph! Our dear leader needs his time to rest, so we shall not be hearing his speech yet. He has asked for a spot on national news for 2:30pm, and we were most willing to comply.
Initial reports tell that the kidnappers were disgruntled military elites loyal to the fascist "people's commissar" of the now illegitimate Council Republic of North American Republics. We shall strike at them wherever they stand!
Here we can see brave PFSL and military personnel rescue our dear leader from harm's way |

Our wonderful leader has decided to come out now, before any regional intervention occurs on this lovely island, to give his speech to the people of the country and the region, the very one that he was supposed to give upon the takeover of the Workers' National Council.
Andrew Rey giving a speech from the Workers' National Council Good afternoon everyone! I am so happy to see you all gathered here today to commemorate the ousting of the fascist government that called itself your brother, your friend, maybe even your lover. These were all lies, fabrications meant to subvert, meant to manipulate, meant to divide. The people of the previous government knew no bounds when it came to restricting your life, enslaving you to the workings of their economic system. Even in their time of ruin, they still attempted to silence the opposition by taking me hostage! *crowd gasps* I come before you all today to formally announce to the world the creation of the Union of Socialist Council Republics, or the USCR, for the single purpose of uniting the proletariat of the region under one banner and one class. Down with the bourgeoisie scum, down with the lies and deceit from the old regime! This, this is a time of progress, of ambition, of revolution! *applause* Join me, my fellow North American Republicans, we shall unite and rule the world under the flag of the USCR and with the ideal of communism at the forefront. It is ever only just on the horizon so we must push harder! Never before have we been closer to this ideal. Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels would be proud of us, for we have established nothing less than the dictatorship of the proletariat that was imagined. I appreciate you all coming out on this fine day in the North American Republics, a fine day that will last an eternity. I shall end my speech here, for I have a country to control. So long, and long live the Socialist Federation of North American Republics. I forgot, I would also like to thank the Equum Alatum government for their recognition of this legitimate government, although I am disheartened by their talk of violence. We shall only destroy the class enemies of our nation, no one more than that. We are going to purge our ranks of the capitalist scum that has permeated our group and our country. I am glad to hear that you do not wish to intervene in my country, but I shall not be heading over to a regional council. Our revolution is our business and it shall be performed in whatever way we want it to be performed! That should be all. The revolution is ours!

12:27am, 5/20/12 The People's Front of Social Liberation has decreed, through Executive Order [EO] 1, that all religious places of worship are to be closed indefinitely. All proselytizing is to be punished by arrest and ten years in prison for the drugging of the masses into submissiveness and false hope of salvation. The PFSL has decreed that only atheism is to be professed by all sane people of the Socialist Federation of North American Republics. Those who profess otherwise are subject to arrest and either a heavy fine or imprisonment.
In other news, those who attempt to emigrate from the island not through the military checkpoints will be shot on sight, as per Executive Order [EO] 2.
