I just wondered- if you had to have a piece of music or song to be your nation's national anthem, what would it be?
My choice would be "Nerevar Rising" by Jeremy Soule; the theme tune to the last 3 Elder Scrolls games.

For its sheer awesomeness, I like Baba Yetu (the theme from civilization 4). It is a Swahili version of the Lord's Prayer, which wouldn't fly in my nation, but this version happens to be fantastic

L'internationale (in the original French) would be my nation's. The tune is stuck in my head and it fits perfectly with my nation. I would also have Woody Guthrie's "This land is your land" up for consideration.

Probably an old American Folk Song called "Oh Shenandoah". Very fitting for a nationstate like my own, geared toward environmentalism. Its mention of the Shenandoah and Missouri Rivers testifies to this. It's a beautiful song in and of itself.

"Hallelujah" would also rank high on the options for a national anthem. Very moving and powerful. A classic, of course, as well.
