Hey SLU leaders! This has been bothering me for a very long time. I had this idea for government positions that rule the roleplay Area of the SLU board. They can take up issues in the council of leaders and it will also give new nations a chance to get involved. Here are the positions I thought would be good.
1. Minister Of Military 2. Government Analyst 3. Minister of Education 4. Minister of The Navy 5. Minister of Space Affairs
Feel free to post back and tell me what you think.

Are you talking about role-playing different ministers within the section, or an actual structural change to the roleplay department? If the former, I could see how that would make sense, but I think that both it would be very bureaucratic and it would take a long time to go through roleplay (not to mention that it would restrict the Council of Leaders events to ministers). If the latter, we already have REPA that will go into effect and it would allow for different departments and the possibility for "ministers" within each department (at least the way I interpret it).

I see what you are saying, NAR. My Idea is not for the council of leaders to be restricted, but for newer nations to get involved. and the whole ministry thing is not the main principle. I just could not come up with a better title. That's all I mean. we could have an elected official that is the Minister Of Roleplay. The rest are just people who work on certain things INSIDE of roleplay.

Okay, that's what I thought. I think that the main issue, though, is with the lack of participation in the Council of Leaders. Ever since the beginning, the CoL has always been struggling. I would wonder how setting up more positions to get newer, and more, nations more involved, however, I would be open to all suggestions and it could be tried.

I don't think that it would be something that would need to be passed though. I think that it would fall under the departments set up by REPA where more people could be included. (Department of Activities)

We could have a clause where, if a nation wishes to be actively involved in roleplays, they have to respond to a CoL sit rep.

I personally think nations' own governments should handle military, education, etc.. With regards to a Minister of Roleplay, I think it could work very well. On the other hand, the Ministry of Domestic Affairs can also handle it without too many problems. Also, its a great thing that indidiual nations can sumbit Sit Reps, etc. Of course, either a tightening-up of the Ministry of DA or creating a Ministry of RP would ensure quality and consistency of the roleplaying, which is an issue we need to take into account. We'll see after the elections how everyone feels.

Roleplaying issues can be handled by the Ministry of Domestic Affairs, but maybe an RP-specific position could be created within the Ministry of Domestic Affairs to ensure the quality and consistency of role-playing in our great region.

Ok. Maybe we should have a vote. We should not just have the always- online Gods Of the Forum but we should TG all of the nations that we need for the job.

The poll is somewhat ambiguous. What do you mean by "Roleplay Government- FOR or AGAINST?"

So it doesn't have any legislative power, correct?

This may have been better put in the roleplay section, I just realized, as the open parliament is not really a place for this as it would not affect legislation.

Do you think it is a good Idea, millyland? I do support creating new positions within the Roleplay Dept. in the DA Ministry, but I just didn't know exactly what you were trying to vote on with this poll.
