According to Article 9, Section 2 of the Third Constitution of the Social Liberal Union, an election for the office of Chancellor is now triggered.

Kanoria is serving as Election Administrator, and will dutifully and impartially execute the duties and powers of this position to the best of their ability.

The Chancellor is the presiding officer of the Court of Justice and Chief Officer of the Judicial branch.

Duties include:

• Presiding over all proceedings of the Court of Justice;
• Adjudicating all cases or controversies arising from this Constitution, Acts of Parliament, Resolutions of Parliament, executive orders, policies, and treaties and other agreements; 
• Conducting criminal trials;
• Settling disputes between individual Member States;
• Conducting other legal proceedings as may be provided for by law;
• Issuing non-binding advisory opinions;
• Serving as Vice Chair of the Law Commission

The term for Chancellor is to last FIVE (5) months, beginning on Friday, 15 March 2019, and ending on Friday, 2 August 2019.

Nominations will last for a period of SEVEN (7) days, starting on Friday, 1 March 2019, and concluding on Friday, 8 March 2019.

Any Member State may nominate themselves (if eligible) or another eligible Member State (subject to their acceptance) to run for this position.

Eligible States are those who:

• Are Member States, as defined by the Constitution;
• Have been Member States for at least two months prior to 8 March 2019;
• Have not served two consecutive terms as Chancellor.

Voting will begin immediately thereafter; starting Friday, 8 March 2019 and concluding Friday, 15 March 2019.

Article 9, Section 2 of the Constitution says that "No State may be elected to this office [the office of Chancellor] more than twice consecutively," so Anaaxes is ineligible to run.

I am humbled by the nominations, but I am afraid I must decline them at this time. I simply would not be able to guarantee my availability to perform the duties of this office on top of the other duties I already have elsewhere.
