News Service of The Democratic Socialist Assembly Issue 1
Greetings, Comrades
Welcome to the first issue of Solidarity, the region's official newspaper. This newspaper used to have active posters, but it has been forgotten about. Since this paper is considered to fall under the Ministry of Role-Play, I, Student Loan Debt, have decided to revive it. Along side myself is your newly elected Minister of Domestic Affairs, Xingal! Together, we will be bringing you news of the region as well as interviews with prominent members of the Democratic Socialist Assembly.

Death of Opalaland?
On July 28th, Opalaland CTE'd (ceased to exist). This was a big issue. If you are unaware, raiders have had their eye on our region for a long time. Luckily, we've had a Founder that exists. Founders are able to eject nations from their region and prevent coups, of which raiders attempt to do. However, if a Founder CTE one day, that's like an open invitation to raiders to try and seize power. With the Democratic Socialist Assembly's high status on NationStates, Opalaland CTEing was a huge deal.
The government of the DSA called upon our alliance with The Red Fleet, one of the largest Defender forces on NationStates that protect leftist regions from raiders. Luckily, however, this was not necessary, for Opalaland returned to the game soon after they CTE'd. Some drastic measures were taken during this time, including temporary suppression of RMB posts before an official statement could be made about the Founder CTEing.
2018 IAFF World Cup
Last month, the DSA accepted a request from the Social Liberal Union to join their inter-regional World Cup, alongside the regions of The Leftist Assembly, The Union of Democratic States, and The Versutian Federation. Rules were set that only 4 nations could proceed to the 2018 IAFF World Cup. To determine who in the DSA could go, a qualification tournament was held. The four nations that proceeded to go on to the World Cup were Napoilia, Dekks, Student Loan Debt, and Tiekerrick.
Over the past two weeks, the nations from all the regions in the competition have been competing to see who will advance to the Quarter-Finals. Sadly, no DSA nations will be advancing. For all those who participated, we thank you for joining us.
If you wish to follow the rest of the tournament, which will end on August 6th, there are multiple ways to follow it. You can follow the official wiki made for the games Linkby clicking on this link.
