If you have any questions (and you probably do), make sure to ask them here! I'll make sure to answer. + I give out cookies or croissants or bagels, apparently. You choose.

Hi New Lettia, good luck on your campaign!
Just a few questions:
1. Please describe, in your own words, the role and duties of the Minister of Domestic Affairs.
2. If elected, would you be willing to be a bit more active on Discord? Most of the administrative discussion/coordination takes place there.
That's all, for now. Again, good luck!

I have some questions about you platform that I think are important to raise: - are you aware of the Library of Parliament? We can work from the NS Wiki entry to start fleshing out the history sections - what's going to be different about your 2nd or 3rd reboot of the Tribune? As the founder of the original, how can you get over the contributor hurdle? - what would you do, specifically, with regards to role play on the RMB and the lack of activity on the forum? - as a follow-up: what other forms of role play would you promote to make sure that that whole community is satisfied?

Hello Courelli!
In my own words, the role of the Minister of Domestic Affairs is about two key things:
1) Making sure that the Union is functioning properly. That is, keeping everything organized (and especially on the RMB, appropriate), ensuring that everyone is informed about events in the SLU and allowing new nations to get off to a good start and to feel comfortable in the SLU.
2) Making sure that all members have the ability to be creative and express themselves. That involves things like making sure that users have the necessary tools for roleplay, worldbuilding and so on, as well as organising events and competitions unrelated to the functioning on the SLU - events like the SLU City of Culture.
As for the Discord, I'm ready to be a bit more active. I already check it every day for important/interesting discussions, I just don't post too often.
Hope that covered everything! I leave you with some cookies. (::) (::) (::)

Hello North American Republics! Good luck on your campaign! As for your questions: 1) Yes, it's a pretty useful tool to find out more about the SLU and it's one of my best friends. I have to admit that it does require some polishing here and there. I believe that filling the blanks in the Wiki would be very useful to let new users understand the SLU better. The NSWiki could be helpful in achieving this. In fact, before I accepted the nomination, I actually tried to make sure what exactly the Minister of Domestic Affairs does, and it would have been much easier if this page actually had some info in it. I have to point out though, that it is very important not to over-complicate these pages (that's where my "short and sweet" comment comes from) because, if we do over-complicate it, that won't help new users at all. And arguably, other than general archiving, helping new users (or users in general) is the Library's key task. 2) As I state in the "But how?" section of my poster, my idea is to give every single roleplayer in the SLU an account to use. It shouldn't be a Ministry project run by a few editors, but a Union project run by everybody, with the purpose of moving roleplay into one*, logical place. (check "4)" to understand the asterisk) The Tribune should be where news happen, not where they rot. 3) I strongly oppose roleplay on the RMB. The RMB and telegrams are, by far, the best ways to reach every single nation in the SLU because, quite simply, they are on the NationStates site. Users who do not participate offsite can only be reached with these methods, really. The problem is that roleplay on the RMB really clutters it and makes it much more difficult for these offsite users to get involved - quite simply because they can't be bothered to read 100 posts about a few emperors arguing with eachother, even if there is some important info stuck in the middle. While telegrams could be a solution, spamming them would result in some users just disabling them 'cause they're pretty annoying. As for the lack of activity on the forum, in my eyes it is not a problem. See, the forum is really meant for important business - like this election, for example - for passing legislation, or generally speaking - for doing things that MUST be archived. Therefore I don't feel that it should be treated as a place where we need to have everyone post a lot of stuff and get involved every day. It should be that, when there is serious business to deal with, which requires public input, but also good, raw archiving, that this is the place to deal with it. And when it comes to roleplay on the Forums, it's quite frankly unnecessary, just look at the boards in the Diplomacy category - for Diplomacy you can use Twitter, for the News Room and the Council of Leaders you'd be able to use the new Tribune, for Worldbuilding you can use the Library of Parliament. All that would probably have to remain on the forum is the SLU City of Culture and the Regional Map 'cause they require public submissions. That's it. 4) I plan to promote the SLU Tribune and Twitter. The reasons are simple: the SLU Tribune will be literally made for roleplay (and an administration announcement every now and then, but mostly roleplay) and it will act as a full-on replacement for the roleplay on the RMB. Meanwhile, Twitter is very easy to manage, work with, and also easily embeddable into an SLU Tribune article, therefore it manages to compliment the Tribune perfectly. I hope that covered everything. Best wishes and loads of bagels from me. O O O O O O O
