Ministerial Elections Voting June 2017

[Election Administrator]

As per Articles 6 and 8 of the Third Constitution of the SLU, a vote has been called to elect Ministers for a period of four (4) months.

Voting shall commence at 03:00 GMT on Wednesday the Fourteenth (14th) of June Two Thousand and Seventeen (2017) and shall last for one week, concluding at 03:00 GMT on Wednesday the Twenty-First (21st) of June Two Thousand and Seventeen (2017) . Votes received outside of this period shall not be counted.

Immediately upon the conclusion of this period, votes shall be counted by the Election Administrator (Kanoria) and shall be confirmed by at least one other nation.

Once confirmation is received, an announcement shall be made of the result, resulting in the new Ministers' terms beginning immediately.

Voting is conducted on a preferential basis.

Owing to the acceptance of some candidates on the final day of the nominations period, the campaigning has been extended during the vote itself. Please note that this does not however apply to nominations which are now closed.

Ministerial Elections June 2017
Elections for ministers have now concluded, and votes have been counted. There were six positions contested and eleven (11) valid ballots received. No invalid ballots were received.

Domestic Affairs
The roles of Minister of Domestic Affairs and Deputy Minister of Domestic Affairs were contested by four (4) candidate nations: Anaaxes, Arachaea, Courelli, and Kyratistani.
First round results:
Anaaxes: 2
Arachaea: 1
Courelli: 6
Kyratistani: 1
Abstain: 1
Following the first round, Arachaea and Kyratistani had joint least votes and were thus both eliminated.
Second Round Results:
Anaaxes: 3
Courelli: 7
Anaaxes had the least votes and was thus eliminated, becoming deputy minister. Courelli had the most votes after the completion of run-off, and is thus elected Minister.

Foreign Affairs
The roles of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs were contested by Two (2) candidate nations: Dermin, and Freeland Newworldia.
First round results:
Dermin: 5
Freeland Newworldia: 4
Abstain: 2
Freeland Newworldia had the least votes and was thus eliminated, becoming deputy minister. Dermin had the most votes after the completion of run-off, and is thus elected Minister.

Immigration
The roles of Minister of Immigration and Deputy Minister of Immigration were contested by Three (3) candidate nations: Cosmoplosion, Hirematia, and Normandy and Picardy.
First round results:
Cosmosplosion: 2
Hirematia: 5
Normandy and Picardy: 2
Abstain: 2
Following the first round, Cosmosplosion and Normandy and Picardy had joint least votes and were thus both eliminated. Thus Hirematia becomes minister.
Deputy Runoff Results:
Cosmosplosion: 4
Normandy and Picardy: 5
Cosmosplosion had the least votes and was thus eliminated. Normandy and Picardy had the most votes after the completion of run-off, and is thus elected Deputy Minister.
