Hey guys, we've got a thread for the political compass quiz, but in terms of party politics there's also the ISideWith quiz, which I feel is less biased and more serious than the lifestyle-type quiz that is the Political Compass. There's UK and US versions which are probably the two that should be done, but there's also a Canadian version if you're interested - the links are all below. Once we've got enough percentages from people then I'll start doing SLU averages. :) My results: UK (not including nationalist parties): 97% Labour, 96% Green, 93% Liberal Democrat US: 98% Bernie Sanders, 88% Hillary Clinton, 79% Martin O'Malley (so obviously I'm a Democrat) Canada: 89% NDP, 87% Liberal, 86% Green www.isidewith.com/political-quizuk.isidewith.com/political-quizcanada.isidewith.com/political-quiz

I have done these in the past, and was disappointed by the percentage matches it gave me, because from the full lists, or custom answers that have a high degree of commonality, they are often marked as differing, and so the percentages will be way out, and even the order can be wrong if you chose a subtly different and less mainstream answer, or just write what you think. So just to warn everyone, pick mainstream if you want your results to make sense.
I disagree about the Political compass being lifestyle based, if you read the blurb on the site, it makes it clear that the quiz is more outlook and driving principles then individual policies, and is also in the scope of all known politics, rather than just one country. It can fall down on the bias on a few points though, as you say, given as it is by a group who are largely in agreement politically.
My results: UK (with advanced answers): Plaid 87%, Green 85%, Labour 84%, SNP 83%, LibDem 81%, Sinn Fein 70%, BNP (UGH!) 18%, Con 13%, UKIP 8%, DUP 4% UK (with only basic answers): Lab: 94%, Green 92%, SNP 88%, Plaid 85%, LibDem 83%, Sinn Fein 78%, Con 13% etc... There is a big difference there, and honestly, the quiz is very limiting in terms of viewpoints and issues covered, there were a couple of good quizzes online in the lead up to the election as a general guide, but that's all, if I can find them again, I will post them in another thread. I was disappointed with isidewith this election, it had been more comprehensive previously. Anyway, not to be too critical, onwards!
Canada: NDP 87%, Green 87%, Liberal 86%, Communist 81%, Bloc Québécois 71%, Libertarian 18%, CHP 13%, Con 2%
US: Bernie Sanders: 97%, Hilary Clinton 85%, Martin o'Malley 65% After that its all less than 35% so *shrugs*
[Edit to add: US parties: Green 97%, Democrat 97%, Socialist 87%, Libertarian 43%, Constitution party 21%, GOP 2%]
The US one seems to be better put together at the moment.

US: Hillary Clinton 87%, Bernie Sanders 82%, Martin O'Malley 64%, Marco Rubio 59%, Rand Paul 46%, Ted Cruz 43%, Ben Carson 13%, Carly Fiorina 13%, Scott Walker 13%. However, were I allowed to vote in the United States, I would give my vote to Bernie Sanders. I'd probably not be comfortable with another Clinton, as that'd reinforce this idea of US national politics becoming a Bush-Clinton family matter.
UK: Green 89%, Scottish Nationals 88%, Liberal Democrats 86%, Plaid Cymru 83%, Labour 80%, Conservatives 75%, Sinn Féin 75%, UKIP 58%, British Nationals 33%, Democratic Unionist 28%. I'd vote LibDem or Green anyway, so I'm not particularly surprised. The Dutch political party I am a member of is twinned with the LibDems in the European Parliament and we exchange volunteers during elections.
Canada: NDP 74%, Bloc Québécois 72%, Communist 72%, Liberal 72%, Green 67%, Conservative 25%, Libertarian 25%, Christian Heritage 20%. Not surprised that the NDP is 1st, though I am surprised to learn that the Communist Party is ranked as high as it is. I would have expected 50% or so, not 72%.

UK: Liberal Democrats 92% (as expected), SNP 88%, Labour 87%, Conservatives 86%, Plaid 83%, Green 80%, Sinn Féin 74%... So pretty accurate with Lib Dems as top, but not that I'd ever vote for the SNP, because of their mad nationalism and feigned outrage at English MPs voting on English laws.
US: Hillary Clinton 95%, Bernie Sanders 95%, Martin O'Malley 68%, Chris Christie 44%, Rand Paul 36%, Carly Fiorina 24%, Scott Walker 6%, Ted Cruz 4%, Ben Carson 2%... So pretty democratic then. Realistically I'd vote Clinton but on ideology it would be Sanders.
Canada: Communist 86% (???), NDP 85%, Green 83%, Liberal 75%, Bloc Québécois 68%. I really wouldn't ever vote for the communists in any nation, put it that way!
