This thread is for the upcoming Ministry of Immigration election. Voting will begin at 0200 BST on the 6th of April, and last for a week. These are exigent circumstances, given the inactivity situation, so some of the usual protocol has been dropped for this one time only. If you wish to nominate yourself or another, please do so by posting below. If you accept a nomination, feel free to set-up a campaign thread, telling us all about your plans for Immigration.
These nations have accepted their nominations and are now running:
Mosktopia
Nytavuthar
If you want further information on what the Ministry of Immigration does, here's something I've prepared:
The Minister of Immigration is in-charge of recruiting new nations to the SLU, and is the head of any committee of nations acting as recruiters, and also may advise and direct the Delegate with regards to any automated recruitment offered by the popular NS++ browser extension. They are the person who decides and forms the policies and plans of the ministry in-question. The Minister coordinates with Domestic Affairs on welcoming and settling new nations into the region, and also with Foreign Affairs on keeping tabs on suspicious nations entering and leaving the region. Immigration is instrumental with regards to the judicial process of prosecuting nations which do not comply with the regional constitution, and is responsible for maintaining the List of Nations- this is an up-to-date list of every nation in the SLU, denoting who is and is not a member state, who does not meet the constitution, who is a diplomat, and the suchlike. This information is key to the effectiveness of the region, and also ensures the Speaker can maintain an up-to-date forum. If the region does not have an effective minister, it lags behind.
