What's a normal day like for an ordinary citizen of your nation?


Although Avaerilonians are a very diverse people, you could create an example of an 'average joe' routine from observing the social norms, common likes and the such. Here's the typical weekday of an adult Avaerilonian:

0700- Wake up, make some coffee and drink said coffee
0710- Shower and usual morning routine
0730- Breakfast with family; probably a pastry, some fruit juice, a piece of fruit and a bowl of porridge with honey
0800- Brush teeth, check one has everything needed for the day, walk the dragon
0830- Walk or take a cab to the station
0845- Take the train to work
0900- Work (let's say in the local archives)
1100- Mid-morning break; coffee, cake and chat to friends and colleagues
1130- Resume work
1330- Lunch; go with friends to local inn or tavern for a beer or glass of wine with some freshly-baked bread, butter, cheese, sliced meat and the suchlike
1430- Resume work
1600- Leave work for home
1630- Arrive home, have afternoon tea with family and dragon
1700- Read a book
1745- Walk the dragon through the local woods, find an ancient amulet
1800- Play with the children
1830- Pop-out to local wizard's tower and enquire as to the amulet's origins
1900- Thank wizard by inviting them to dinner
1930- Have dinner with guest and family; let's say a salmon salad followed by lāsana with potatoes, washed-down with a good glass-or-two of red wine
2030- Coffee and mints with guest and spouse
2100- Tuck the kids in and read them a story
2130- Walk the dragon, catch dragon after it bounds-off after fox (looking for a playmate)
2145- A glass of brandy by the fireplace with the guest, discuss politics, history and the horror or e-books
2200- Bid the guest farewell
2215- Read a book in the armchair
2300- Enjoy some quality time with the spouse
2340- Having had the quality time, go to sleep
0122- Woken by dragon as it snuffles its way into the bed, go to sleep with a sleepy dragon curled-up next to oneself
0300- Sleep-though the local wizard summoning a fireball and hurling-it at a passing wyrm/maleficar/unspeakable horror accidentally released by said wizard trying to tap-into an energy field from the Dungeon Dimensions; sleep-though wizard celebrating loudly and falling-over with a loud swear

04:20 Shower, shave, etc.
04:40 Tea on the porch
05:00 Breakfast, probably consisting of fresh bread from the bakery, fruit, toast, cold fish, and a large glass of milk
05:30 Relax. Perhaps have some more tea or chant or read a book.
06:00 Get ready for work
06:30 Walk, bicycle, drive, or catch the bus or the train to work; marvel at the fact the average foreigner would just now be dragging himself out of bed
07:00 Arrive at work, check in, and get yourself settled for the day
07:15 Work
09:15 Get yourself some tea, and perhaps a little ðhrænlíðeþýfiscer- dry biscuits with a dried fish filling (aren't you foreigners just drooling over that?) and go back to work
10:00 More tea. Back to work.

There are many different professions and lifestyles in a country as diverse as Hirematia, but I will show the life of a typical service/industrial worker and the life of a student.

Service/Industry

6:00 Wake up and get ready

6:30 Eat breakfast (usually kolakalava - a blended drink made with 2 raw eggs, whole milk, green chiles, herbs, and cheese - with a side of fruit), walk to train station

7:00 Hop on the train or taxi to work (most urban Hirematians rely on public transportation), sleep more on train

8:00 Arrive at work, start working

12:00 Get off for lunch break

14:00 Resume work

15:30 Workday ends (workers can work as much overtime as they want after this), workers leave

16:00 Arrive at bar with friends to unwind

17:00 Leave bar

18:00 Arrive home, spend time with family

19:00 Eat dinner

20:00 Finish dinner, go outside (until dark at 21:00) or watch TV with family

22:00 Parents spend time together

23:00 Parents go to bed


Student (Primary/Secondary)

6:00 Wake up, get ready

6:30 Eat breakfast, walk to school bus stop

7:00 Hop on school bus

7:30 Arrive at school, talk with friends before classes begin

8:00 Start classes

12:00 Begin lunch/recess break

13:00 End of lunch, recess (primary), back to classes (secondary)

13:30: End of recess, back to classes (primary)

15:00 School ends, after-school activities begin (sports teams, intramurals, arts, STEM, debate, etc.) - All students of all ages expected to participate

17:30 Students leave for home

18:00 Students arrive at bus stop, meet parents there or at train station

18:30 Arrive home

19:00 Eat dinner

20:00 Spend time with family

21:00 Bedtime (Primary schooler)

22:00 Start studying (Secondary schooler) - Hirematian children do not have homework, but older kids do have to study
