FULFLOOD FOR SPEAKER!

I, Fulflood, am running for Speaker of the Union. Firstly, I'd like to thank Millyland for my nomination.

After having resided in the Social Liberal Union as a reasonably active member for a little over 7 months, I have enough knowledge of the organisation and goings on of the region to understand 'what makes it tick' (to drop a rather cliché phrase). I'm not old money, but I'm not new either.

I know I have some good Speakers to follow, but I think I can coordinate and cooperate with fellow SLUans for a more successful region over the next few months,  in order to help generate some activity and keep everything running smoothly.

My plan:

More transparency
Announcing all available positions in the regional government on the RMB, especially recruitment
Announcing all those appointed into governmental positions on the RMB
Helping to reintroduce weekly 'State of the Region' reports

More activity
Working on an updated recruitment and welcome TG, to advertise spaces in government and mentorship opportunities
TGing members of the region when important regional happenings are going on
Increasing recruiting over the summer and driving for more recruiters
Consultation on the design and accessibility of the forum or other methods of voting, to increase voting numbers
Deepening and strengthening nation-based roleplay in the region, both on the RMB and forum

More punctuality
Ensuring all elections start on time

More organisation-ality
Keeping an updated list of nations
Passing new laws as and when needed
Keeping the forum in order to ensure maximum usability for member states - this includes updating the currently outdated government position list

I aim to work hard and dutifully to achieve these targets if elected.

Very impressive; I like what I'm seeing! How do you plan to work with the Ministry of Domestic Affairs, considering the overlap between certain aspects of both the Speaker's office and the DA?

I'd aim to talk to you and NAR if there's any issues that need to be discussed of course, and hopefully we'd be able to contribute ideas into each others' areas to benefit all of us. In terms of mentoring, you/Franco/NAR or whoever else mentors obviously know how to run that best, but as I said above, I'd like to make the mentoring programme more evident to new members through the welcome TG. And I'll help to keep track and get to grips with the forum, quite possibly pointing out some of the more interesting or new roleplays somehow.

First of all, apologies for my lateness in answering; I've been busy over the weekend. It's a good question though, and a tough one.

So what I'd aim to do is firstly work on a new recruitment TG, or at least drastically improve the current one, to help increase the percentage of recruited people who join. Then I'd think about putting a 'contact x if you want to be a recruiter' or similar in the welcome TG. Then there's the trusty RMB, through which, if careful, a new attitude to recruiting could be given.

Also, my personal busy couple of months are coming to an end after Monday, and after that I have basically nothing of responsibility or time-consuming to do, so I'll be recruiting a bit.
