A King's Ransom (Sign-Up Thread, OOC, FanT)

This is the sign-up thread for a Fantasy Tech. RP, "A King's Ransom." 


"It is a dark time for the Kingdom of Vymalia. Prince Dallion has found himself thrust-upon the throne as his revered and kind father, King Elvarn the Wise, has been taken hostage by an unknown foe. The new king's advisors tell him different things- mercenaries looking for booty planned it, one of the numerous kingdoms that have waged-wars on Vymalia in the past are to blame, or the shadowy Council of the Elders, a body of sorcerers and necromancers most foul, spirited the good king away to some distant and horrid land. However, the weight of the crown upon the young king's head has been lifted. Friendly nations have pledged themselves to finding the king, and at this moment one of them, Avaerilon, is sending a group of interesting characters to investigate..."

I will be RPing as myself (Avaerilon), but switching in-between the exploits of a small group of characters, and the actual kingdom itself. I am looking for someone to play Vymalia, someone to play a hostile kingdom, and someone to play the Council of Elders. Other groups/nations are of course welcome, but I need the 3 specified filled for the RP to work.

Well, I know it isn't on the list, but how about the leader of the mercenaries?... Nomad mercenaries?

Empire of the Dova is a union between two sentient races of Dovframing-allt (dragons) and Dovqold (Humans) who have forged the union of Dova. Lead by the High Dragon King Aldartal. An ancient dragon whit much wisdom and power.

Dovqold otherwise known as Northmen or Nords to the people of Vymalia are a proud warrior people who resent magic (whit the exception of voice magic and healing magic) and have a strict warrior traditions. The Dovqold are known to be very skilled in metallurgy and craft some of this realms finest weapons and armor. The Dovqolds respect power and which is why they have allowed the dragons to take power over their land.  The dragons themselves serve as the empires nobility and have the infamous dragon cult that serves them. The dragon cult works not just as a religious body who worships the almighty elder dragon Aldartal but also manages the day to day task of managing the empire, allowing their rulers (the dragons) to focus on more important matters. Recently the empire have invaded their southern neighbor the kingdom of Vymalia. The reason is to secure fertile land as the large forests,tundras and mountains of Dovahimla can't sustain the growing population.

Newhalla: Great, thank you :) Dova sounds like an ideal nation. Let's just hope we don't get fus-ro-dah'd ;)

Kanoria: Mercenaries sound like an interesting plot addition- I have siad other groups are welcome, so I don;t doubt we can fit them in :)

Well, if there are no objections, I think we'll be starting tomorrow. I'll create the thread and post first... then the fun will begin!
