Department of Neutral Relations: Foreign Ambassador Policy
AIMS: To set a clear, codified procedure for the admittance of foreign ambassadors
•Should an ambassador from a region which the SLU has no diplomatic ties contact the government or enter the SLU, he/she shall be directed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
•The Ministry may then ask the ambassador to complete an application form containing questions about their region of origin and other relevant material.
•Upon receipt of the completed form, the Ministry may either invite the ambassador to the SLU, or consult the Cabinet for its opinion. An advisory, non-binding vote of Cabinet should be held as soon as possible. Based on the results of the vote and information pertaining to the region in question, the Ministry will then make a decision on whether to admit the ambassador or not.
