Nominations for Speaker will end at the start of voting. Voting will begin at 00:00 UTC on the 9th (March 9, 2013)

Please announce your nominations for Speaker of the Union here.

Once nominated and accepted, please start up your own campaigning thread in which you can give your platform and answer any questions on your candidature.

I don't plan to run, but is there any place I could go to learn the duties/role a speaker has? Always nice to know what exactly you are voting for someone to do.

Clause 2. Following the passage of such a motion or the passage of four months, any state may nominate themselves to run for the position of Speaker of the Union and may start campaigning. The period of nominations will go for one week. States must be nominated for the position by another member state.

So nations may nominate themselves and start campaigning but must be nominated by another state? Kind of contradictory..... So, in the interest of avoiding conflict, I second Agua Fria's nomination.

The phrasing is odd, and can be interpreted as desired by a Court. But I would suggest the meaning that a state can self nominate or be nominated by a member state but cannot be nominated by a non-member state.

Since it is tradition a nation can only nominate one nation, I'll second Lorbourne as well, just to be safe :)
