What are the biggest national newspapers in your nation? Which kind of political leaning do they take? Are they critical of the government or supportive? And who reads them?
The traditionally two biggest in Avaerilon are The Daily Chronicle and The Daily Telegraph. The former is a socially-liberal paper that has always supported the Liberal party, and thus is quite supportive of the current government. The Chronicle is a favourite of academics, writers and intellectuals.
The Telegraph used to be pro-Conservative, but since the 1970s has become a broadly centrist newspaper, and thus is favourable to the Centrist party. It can be both supportive and very critical of the current government. Businessmen and women favour this paper.
The Avaerilonian Standard is the more "left-wing" newspaper. Catering to Social-Democrats, the paper is currently split between journalists friendly to the government and journalists who despise it. Teachers and doctors are known patrons of the Standard.
All newspapers in Avaerilon are broadsheets- nobody would ever dream of reading s sordid tabloid!

The People's Daily was the largest (formerly state-run) newspaper at its height. It was sold to a foreign citizen and readership dropped. It was slightly biased towards the government of the North American Republics, but wouldn't shy away from criticizing other governments. Solidarity Among Us has since become the largest worker-run newspaper and publishes articles daily criticizing the government for betraying the workers of the North American Republics and its fiery articles are often cited in schools, workplaces, councils, and public forums. The Menace is also a popular laissez-faire supporting newspaper that is read by idealistic young teenagers and preached at school clubs. Luckily, they outgrow such a phase and tend to start reading Solidarity Among Us and participating in council meetings. State and Enemies was a fascist newspaper that was published early on in the country's history and remaining copies are sold on Webour (an online auction site) for 30.25 and up.
