What do the passports used by your nation look like? What exactly is the process for obtaining one? If you don;t use passports, what, if anything, do you use instead?
An Avaerilonian passport. Avaerilonians are obliged to renew their passport every 10 years from the age of 18 onwards. Under-18s renew their passports every 5 years, and get one early after reaching the age of 18. Passports are free-of-charge for Avaerilonian citizens, all of whom are expected to hold one, since travel is viewed as an essential part of both business and culture. They serve as a formal item of identification, second only to a birth certificate. People born on Avaerilonian soil are entitled to hold an Avaerilonian passport, granting them entry to Avaerilon, but not citizenship, unless they apply specifically for that. The children of Avaerilonian parents are also entitled to a passport.

Alterio suspects the leader of Avaerlion used a program, called Photoshop.

There were pretty impressive ones in the thread, but yours is my favourite, Ava. All the different scripts are a nice touch :)

Avaerilon, you win hands down over my design in terms of professionalism.
I will submit my own tomorrow for review (because I have yet to draw it). The basic idea is a unique tattoo on the inside of the wrist, using a unique formulation and dispersment pattern as well as design. Viewed in different light conditions, this causes the tattoo to appear different. The ink also has a unique magnetic signature, that is scanned for. The patterns also contain information on the fourth finger print of the left hand, and the thumb print of the right, as well as blood unique information. Also listed are the services done for Kanoria and humanity.
Any are free to travel, once they are 16 and have obtained the tattoo. Before the age of 16, documents must be obtained for each journey that is made outside of Kanorian territory, these include a photographic ID, however they are normally waved through with minimal hassle, and typically take two to six days to be completed and ready for collection and use, these allow travel for thirteen months.
If, for any reason, a person is restricted from travelling, this will be shown when the tattoo is scanned, but the old methods are still employed. A bracelet with the word Ginnarr (betrayer) on, will be fastened over the tattoo, and can only be unlocked and removed by immigration officials once the ban is lifted.
The words on the tattoo that are readable by eye say:
"Sanna haldorðr hinn, láta hann vinr líða láta fararleyfi enn gildi sjálfráðr"
Or ' True of his word this one has proven to be, we thus command that this friend be allowed passage, and be free to depart and to return'.
The markings were originally given to messengers of the local vísi, serving under the Jarl. And have survived to this day, though they are now given to all Kanorian citizens that wish to travel.

Kingdom of Grolsch: thank you :) I used MS paint, mostly! @alterio: I don't have Photoshop :P The closest thing I have to it is Paint.net, which I did use to help make this Millyland: (::) Awwwwww Kanoria: you're very kind ;D Your design sounds awesome, and very practical, too. Can't wait to see it.

Since I, er, changed the national language (and history :P ) of my nation, I've also changed the passport. So, here it is! And still made without Photoshop :D Since there are over 10 images, I decided to put them all in one album and just supply the link to it; it might otherwise make this page a bit, er, cluttered/slow-to-load... imageshack.com/a/Ks7q/1

Great work, as always, Ava! And so much of it too!
I still can't make one SKETCH of mine that I am happy with.

I've got a meager attempt at a cover here, but, unfortunately, I'm not nearly as good at this as Ava. :3
