FACTBOOK COMPETITION
What's that, you say? A factbook competition?!
Indeed. After a little planing, I've decided to create a competition for those of us who have or plan to write factbooks on the forum. Every two weeks, a competition will be held, where I will accept factbook entries in specific subjects from member states, judge them, and then hand-out prizes. For each subject, there will be an overall winner, along with awards for other areas. Those given awards will receive £ lira and something to attach to their signature to show-off their victory.
I am not accepting entire factbooks, just on specified subjects. The first competition will be held soon! Why not write some more of your factbook and post it on the forum in anticipation? If you have any queries not answered by the points below, or wish to add a comment, feel free to do so :)
Q: How long are the competitions held over?
A: Each competition will be held over the period of two weeks, starting from a Saturday. Submissions can be made until, not the next Friday, but the Friday after that. The judging then occurs over the weekend, and the results posted on Monday, along with the awards being handed-out.
Q: How will you stop people getting-in too early, or too late?
A: The contest starts with the thread for each contest being created, with the subject area listed. As soon as the final day to submit entries ends, I lock the thread.
Q: Who is judging?
A: Me, of course ;D
Q: What awards are going to be given-out?
A: The overall winner will receive the "Best X Factbook Entry," 'X' being the subject. The overall winner is judged on a combination of language, detail and story-telling, and how interesting it is. There are also awards for "Best-Written Entry" and "Most Detailed Entry." All awards come with £Lira as prizes, too.
Q: Is there a word-limit?
A: Yes; it will vary for each one, so when I start each competition thread, you'll know.
