The small jet touched-down smoothly on the runway, the bright orange and yellow lights of the airport dancing on the chiselled face of Iago Penderyn. He finished his lightly sparkling lemonade and wiped his hands with the napkin.
"Sir, is there anything else I can do for you before we disembark?" Asked Davies, the steward.
"Dim diolch, no thank you. I've had a very pleasant flight, in no small part thanks to you. I'll see that your manager hears about this."
"Why thank you, Minister. That means a lot to me."
The door slid downwards and Iago could see three people waiting to greet him below; a secretary, probably to the man in the dark suit with the balding head, and the driver of the discreet luxury saloon ahead.
"Ah, Minister Penderyn- am I saying it right?" Asked the blading man, who promptly shook his hand. "Yes- pen-der-YN- you got the intonation perfectly." "Excellent. I am Michael Tellin, your guide and humble servant while in Parlatina. It's a pleasure to meet you." He said with a pleasant smile.
"Likewise, I'm very confident that I'll have a nice stay here- even with th conference," Iago said drily, making both Tellin and his secretary laugh. "Oh, forgive me, sir, this is Helena, my secretary. I'd be utterly lost without her. "How do you do?" The young woman said, extending her hand toward Iago. "A pleasure."
***
The drive was as smooth as liqueur, and the car arrived promptly at the Lord Protector's Palace. Iago handed the driver a A25 note, receiving a knowing tap of the hat from the driver, a wizened and stalwart old fellow. A young man, smartly-dressed, quickly walked towards him.
"Minister Penderyn; welcome to the summit. May I take your attaché case?" "Thank you; I am quite all right."
Iago gazed up in admiration at the distinguished and proud building. The architecture was stunning. Hopefully the conference wouldn't be too bad, either.

So there was darkness. Bildt looked out trough the window seeing the capital city of Palartina. Newcomers to the SLU Bildt thought to himself. But something feels odd whit these people.
The trip has been long. Flying for over 15 hours from one of Newhalla protection states on the other side of the very wast globe has made him tired.
"Well hope they have good rooms down there"
The plane has finally landed.
Freyd his new bodyguard approached him.
"Minister we have landed, a car is waiting outside to take you to the Newhalla accommodation" "For Odin sake can't you guys just call me Carl or something less formal" "Yes minister ehmm i mean Carl" "Relax Freyd, I'm not the lich, i can't send you to Prihall" (referring to the Chief of N-SIC) "Thank the gods for that minister" "Lets just get to the Palace, you never know where the lich's agent are"
***
After hour in the plane, the 15 ,minute car ride seemed to take forever. Halfway trough the ride the Lord Protector's Palace became visible. Bildt gazed on the building.
Even though not as large as the High temple in Riv the architecture was beautiful, hopefully Mar or any other so-called peoples protectors will stay out of this.
Hopefully

11:30 pmAfter Minister Penderyn of Avaerilon, and Minister Bildt of Newhalla, had settled in, servants knocked on their doors and delivered notes. Dear Minister,
I hope you will consider joining me for breakfast in the morning, say 9:30? If you would like to, please just inform the staff and they'll come get you in the morning and direct you.
Sincerely, HH Lord Protector James Edige 9:28 am, the following morningOn a balcony patio the 26th Lord Protector of the Commonwealth of Palartina, James Edige, sat at a marble table. His view was facing the back of the LP's Palace, towards the extensive gardens, with the skyline of Palara along the horizon. He was drinking his usual morning tea, and awaiting (hopefully) the arrival of his guests. (OOC: To reiterate feel free to keep arriving, we've just skipped forward to the morning. The arrivals will continue for 3 IC days)

Air Force 14 landed on a mild day in Palara. The stairs undolded of the side of the wing and Minister Caspar Maritz stepped out.
"I want to see the Palaratina Rose Gardens while were here." Said Minister Maritz as he walked down the stairs of his jet along with Frederick Pierreson, his lead supervisor."
As soon as the two of them got off the stairs of their luxury miniature concorde they were warmly greeted by a neat, slender man with a warm smile.
"I'll be your main guide throughout Palartina." Said the man. "My name is Kimberely Newport. Follow me to our limosine.
"Do you know where the Palartina Rose Gardens are?" Asked Minister Maritz.
"Of course I know about them." Said Kimberely. "It looks like your schedule ispretty busy with meetings and conferences but I an sure we'll be able to make room for a quick stroll through the gardens.
The Limosine stopped and The Minister, Supervisor and Kimberely got out.

Oliver DeHourse, Prime Minister of Palartina, waited while Minister Maritz and Supervisor Pierreson exited the limousine.
"Welcome to Palartina Minister, Supervisor. Thank you Mr. Newport." The driver tipped his hat to the PM and got back into the limousine, and drove away. "As I understand it, you have a keen interested in our famous Rose Gardens? I see no reason why we can't tour the gardens and talk business at the same time. If you'll follow me."
The PM turned and walked up the steps to the Palace, leading the group through the central hall, and out the back into the Rose Gardens.
"These gardens cover about 200 acres, or 494 hectares, as you're so inclined. Here we use Imperial units."

Bingt waked up early in the morning. Taking a promenad trough Palara. Carl Bingt And then the foreign minister of Newhalla got lost in Palara. After finally finding a way back to the Newhallan accommodation, Bingt laid his eye on a note on the bed. Dear Minister, I hope you will consider joining me for breakfast in the morning, say 9:30? If you would like to, please just inform the staff and they'll come get you in the morning and direct you. Sincerely, HH Lord Protector James Edige Bingt looked at his watch. For the love of Freja, oh well hope they got some real meat there. Bingt picked up the phone. A young woman answered. "Yes minister what can i do for you" "Just some directions where the Lord Protector is that would be fine"

Iago smiled and thanked the serving man, before closing the solid wooden door and sprawling-out on the amply-stuffed sofa. He opened the note, written on fine, crisp paper, and began to read.
"Dear Minister,
I hope you will consider joining me for breakfast in the morning, say 9:30? If you would like to, please just inform the staff and they'll come get you in the morning and direct you.
Sincerely, HH Lord Protector James Edige"
"Hm," He thought to himself. "Sounds like a nice idea. A little bit late by Avaerilon standards, but then we have just crossed thousands of miles. Yes, I'll phone them up, turn in for the night, and have a nice spot of breakfast with the Lord Protector."
Iago put the letter in his jacket pocket, picked up the brushed-steel phone and dialled the listed number.
"Hello there... yes, Minister Penderyn. I'd just like to confirm I will be having breakfast with the Lord Protector, and I'd like to thank him for the invitation. Excellent... yes, thank you. Goodnight."
After getting changed into his nightwear, light silk shorts and a cotton t-shirt, Iago was just about to turn off the lights when the phone rang. It was the King!
"Eich Mawrrhydi, noson da. Hynny yw pleser. Ie, dwi'n iawn, diolch yn fawr syr; tipyn bach wedi blino, ond chi'n gwybod, wrth gwrs. Yn d'? Mae'r pobl yma sy'n cyfeillgar fawr iawn. O, mae'n neis o chi. Ie, hwyl yn fawr iawn, fy arglwydd. Noson da."
("Your Majesty, good evening. This is a pleasure. Yes. I'm fine, thank you sir; a little bit tired, but you know, of course. Isn't it just? The people here are very friendly. Oh, it's nice of you. Yes, farewell, my lord. Good evening.")
Conversations with Dragonheart were always entertaining. In informal circumstances like this, he'd ask you to talk like you would to a mildly senior colleague, not your liege-lord and high-king.
Anyway, Iago found sleep came easily over him.
***
Refreshed and comfortable, Iago sauntered down the plush hall with his guide. His stomach was rumbling and breakfast would be a treat. "...and did you know, sir, that the site has been occupied for such a long time?" "I did hear of its long history, but not that it had been used for so long a time. Intriguing."
They were making pleasant conversation as the man pointed out features of the building, and how they linked to the history of Palartina.
"And in this room here, sir, the Lord Protector himself awaits."

The Lord Protector, turned as his guests were introduced onto the patio. James Edige was 76, though still quite spry. He had an aristocratic bearing, and gave off an air of being like a kind and wise grandfather.
"Hello Ministers, I'm glad you could join me. I'm sure you probably know of each other, no? Please sit, I'll have the staff bring out some food. What would you like to drink? I believe I'll have tea."
The servants brought out a platter with a Continental breakfast, with various breads, meats, cheeses, jams, and jellies. The Lord Protector made himself a plate. A servant soon brought him his tea.

Bingt analyzed the room, a old habit from working whit N-SIC.
There was a cool temperature in the room.
Bingt took the chair left of the The Lord Protector and in front of Penderyn.
Without saying a word Bingt took several meat pieces whit a wooden stick. Taking a bite from the meat. Bingt in surprise of the taste almost choked on the meat piece.
"WOoah this, this is some serious stuff" Bildt looked at the The Lord Protector and later on Penderyn. "Excuse me, wasn't prepared for, the special taste"

"Oh. You must have gotten some of the especially spicy salami. It's a favorite of mine but I can understand your reaction, it's quite strong."
The Lord Protector took a sip of tea. "Now, to discuss a little business, I understand that both of your nations are currently at war with the North American Republics? Our government would consider it a great honor to be involved in any progress towards peace. In your opinions, do you think the belligerents would consider sitting down with us here in Palartina? Allowing us to act as mediators of a peace, or even a ceasefire?"

To the leader of Palartina, Guy Henri the King and Jean Duke the Prime Minister have agreed to attend the meeting, with a catch. Transportation is very difficult in my country due to cars and planes being banned, and trust issues between are countries is an issue. Therefore, we request to attend the meetings via skype or something similar. Best Wishes, Guy Henri

Well whit all due respect lord protector, but the Newhallan government will not accept any peace proposal whitout some kind of reassurence that the NARan state will not just start a third war of aggresion a few years later.

The representatives of the government of Azerzia arrive later than expected. The lead delegate, the Crown Prince of Bekaln, greets the fellow delegates warmly as he eneters
"My apologies fellow representatives on my late arrival. We had significant issues ensuring our arrival past the NARan military forces. For this initial proposal by the Palartina, we would accept mediation. We are seeking a lasting peace in the SLU from the hostile NARan threat. Our forces remain near NARan waters and have their home island blockaded. NARan mines and missiles, however, threaten our forces daily. It is NARan imperial aggression which is at issue. Do not let their talk of workers' rights fool you in this matter.
Of course, we will accept a neutral county in which to discuss matters. If Palartina would be so inclined to host, our government would agree. Now, what other issues beyond the war in the Tenian Sea are there to discuss?"

The Lord Protector had started to reply to the honorable Minister Bingt when the representatives from Azeria, for lack of a better word, barged onto the patio. Not to say that he was offended, indeed he was extremely happy that more nations were becoming involved in the summit, he was merely surprised. "It's fine Your Royal Highness, you actually are not late, the summit won't begin until the day after tomorrow. At the very least not until several more nations have made an appearance. I was just hosting this little meeting of present delegates for social purposes, to pass the time until the summit actually begins." The LP stood and pulled out a chair for the Crown Prince. "Please, won't you join us." After everyone had been seated, he spoke again. "Thank you, your Royal Highness, for the Azerian viewpoint. I'm very glad to hear that you are willing to allow us to mediate. As you nation is one of the main combatants, this is excellent news. To answer both Minister Bingt's statements earlier, and now yours, I agree that a lasting peace is our primary goal, hopefully we can negotiate a settlement. Now, we should really save some business for the actual conference, shouldn't we?" The Lord Protector smiled. "I would suggest that each of you take time to "see the sights" as they say, here in Palara. The Senate building is magnificent, we also have the famous National Rose Gardens, and the Monument to Peace. The last commemorates all those lost in the service of our country." The Lord Protector stood to leave. "I'm sorry to rush off so, it's quite rude I know, but I'm afraid I haven't a choice. I must give a speech in the Senate." The Lord Protector shook everyone's hands and left. (OOC: As the LP said, we must have something left to discuss at the actual summit :P, so I'll use this RPer's loophole) _______________________________________________________________ To: His Majesty Guy, King of Luxembourg-Belgium, Although we can make every assurance of your majesty's safety if your royal personage were to visit Palartina, we will be glad to cooperate with your request. As such, an interactive digital link of the highest quality will be set up between your majesty's place of choice, and the conference hall where the summit will take place. Your majesty will be able to fully participate in the summit. Sincerely, His Highness James Edige, Lord Protector of the Commonwealth of Palartina

"Well, gentlemen," Said Iago, wiping his mouth with the thick linen napkin. "I think it's fair to say if the Lord Protector's summit is anywhere near as good as his breakfast, then we have nothing to worry about." A wave of pleasant chuckles surfaced around the table, and a few hands reached for more croissants. Iago had had his fill of food, but had ordered some Morrowish breakfast tea, which he usually had every morning.
"I confess," Said the Lord Protector, leaning in. "I have never, to my knowledge, ever had Morrowish tea. Forgive me for asking, but why does it enjoy such a reputation?" "Well, Avaerilon, as my Lord has duly noted earlier, is a nation that enjoys tea and numerous forms of it. One such variety grows well in the volcanic soil and has a perfumed, light taste, with a hint of citrus. It grows on you, truly."
"I must try some! A pot for myself, please." The Lord Protector said to a nearby servant, who bowed and went on his way.
"I don't understand what's with tea in the morning," Said Bingt. "I thought it was drunk at the meal; tea." "Oh, Avaerilonians are like the British on this matter. They can't stop drinking it. Or when they do, they're on the coffee!"
