Lyra is coolest. (At least to me) Sonce i live in the US Pound reminds me of like weights or pound cake so basicaly just very heavy cakes. i thibj the lyra is a instrument sort of like the harp, so I think of a harp.

"Lyre" is the instrument; but yes, it does have a nice name. Being British, "pound" to me really just means our currency.

Pound. I like lyra (or "lira") but ultimately, I'd go for pound.

I would have to agree with Comanici. My first thought when someone says pound is weight, and yes I'm from the US Also. Just really far from Cleveland. ;)

I changed my vote to lyra (although this really should be changed to lira, I think). I like "pound" a lot though and I may even change my vote back before the poll closes.

I think we have to have a two/three way election for Lyra, Pound and/or Cookie (::) @gunir I agree. If Lyra wins the election well have to have an election between lira and lyra :)

I prefer Lyra over Lira for some reason. I think because when you write Lyra, I think it will be pronounced like "Lee•ra." And when you write Lira, I think it will be pronounced like "Lie•ra." And I like "Lee•ra," better.

Thing is, "y" and "i" have several different possible pronunciations, each ;)
And "Lira" as a currency is pronounced like "lear-a," with a soft vowel sound. "Lyra," to my mind, would be like "lire-a."

Also, isn't "Lyra" a character from that (Godawful) cartoon MLP that people are so obsessed with? We're not a "ponyist" region, so we should avoid using the "y", if Lira is voted for.

Lyra looks like it rhymes with Tyra though and sounds like a musical instrument (the lyre). It's a constellation, also.

Google Translate- In Italian the "R" is rolled. It is indeed Lee not Lie (I typed in Lyra an Lira they are pronounced the same) LEE•Ra or LEER•a

Google Translate...? Always reliable, of course... :P Also, I was referring to how it is pronounced in English; sorry for not stating that!

And yes I know that they are the same language, I mean the pronunciations are different because of our accents.

What? No Drachma? How disappointing. I would pay 10 ₯ to see that.
Oh and I cast my vote for Lyra.
