The office of the Democratic Socialist Assembly ambassador to the Social Liberal Union has its place here on this forum, under this forum name. The in-game embassy is the DSA ambassador to SLU. The preferred method for contacting the office of the ambassador is through a telegram to the in-game embassy. We are happy to provide information on the Democratic Socialist Assembly at any time. The office of ambassador to the Democratic Socialist Assembly is supervised by the DSA's Minister of Foreign Affairs, which office is currently held by Suceavija. The office is currently staffed and executed directly by the Praetorian Council of the Praetorian Republic of Arcomo. The head of the embassy is (Lord) Diederick Antonius, Dictator and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. The DSA is proud of our ongoing friendship and will aim to sustain or increase that friendship.

The embassy has adopted the military stance of the Democratic Socialist Assembly, of aiding in the defence of allies under the UDLR. The colour for this status is blue. To the embassy.

The embassy will be unavailable from the 21st of July to the 28th of July, due to the summer vacation. The ambassador is in East Germany for the duration of that week, and cannot be contacted. Common issues and pleas may be submitted in the usual manner, the embassy will work overtime after the return of the ambassador, to answer the build-up of telegrams. For urgent matters, the Democratic Socialist Assembly's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Suceavija, will be available. We apologize for any inconvenience.

I'm a youth leader with scouting, currently with the young people of 15-18 years old. Those young people, called Explorers, organize their own gatherings and, once every four years, go on a summercamp separate from the rest of our scouting group. This year's summercamp is one of those times and Germany is significantly less expensive than the Netherlands, where we are based.
I'm confident the trip will be really cool, we have a nice and active Explorers group this year, even though some dropped out. We worked hard the past season to gather enough additional funds to be able to fill the week with an active and diverse programme. So the ambassador will be fine, if everyone manages to stay in one piece and doesn't get arrested...

We're going to a place close to Lohmen, which is near Dresden, near de Saxon Switzerland National Park. This is the route from our own scoutbase to where our campsite in Germany is: >Google Maps<Most of us will go by train, two leaders will take a car with our heavier stuff, like crates and tents.

A scouting camp? Great! I was a member of scouting from age 8 to age 12. Both land scouting (Tapawingo) and water scouting (Isala II). I've moved my attention to snowboarding since though, but I have fond memories of my time with scouting. Especially the camps...I hope you guys won't have to deal with police too much :)

I'm sure we won't, Scouting Netherlands, our national federation, and our own association (of which I am the president) have very strong rules on drugs and abuse (violence and other abuse). There is a zero-tolerance rule on drugs (just no drugs @ scouting), alcohol and sigarettes under certain conditions, and physical and verbal abuse is pretty much zero-tolerance as well. Sexual relations depend on circumstances, but never between a staff-member and a youth member. Besides that we've made it clear to our young people our level of tolerance will be lower than usual on summer camps, because we're far away from home and that increases the weight of the responsibility we as leaders carry. So I'm pretty confident nothing will happen involving the police.
I was a boyscout for five years, became leader of my patrol in the third year and the years after that, being the patrol leader, really were the best. I have very fond memories of those early years. Sadly, though, scouting isn't as much what it used to be. The die-hard survival and original scouting mentality has definitely weakened over the past decade. But we keep trying :P
And there's no place like the Netherlands, it may be a boring landscape, we may have shitty politicians, and the weather may stink - maar er gaat niets boven Groningen!
Though I consider Norway to be a very attractive place to live, in many ways.

...and our civil rights are good; I find it very important to be able to marry someone of the same gender without being burned at the stake.

Hehe, ok. When you're in a 6-meter sailboat with 4 to 6 12- to 16-year-olds it is quite easy to hide alcohol, especially in Friesland.. It wasn't like everyone was drunk all the time or something, but many people consumed a little bit more alcohol than was legally allowed. ;) Having such rules against abuse and enforcing them is a good thing, I think.
I'm in love with Norway! But, hey, I was born in the Achterhoek, which isn't bad either. Now live in Haaglanden, which has more than its fair share of said stupid politicians ;) And we have 2 indoor ski areas! :D

It wasn't like everyone was drunk all the time or something, but many people consumed a little bit more alcohol than was legally allowed. ;) Which is any alcohol because you have to be sixteen to legally consume it. We uphold the law in such matters and, even though some scouts (ages 12-15) may be sixteen, they have to be explorers (ages 15-18) to be allowed alcohol, and even then only with permission from the leaders. Usually we just set a time from which they can drink (if they're 16 of course) and social control takes care of the rest. If they're hung over the next day, no one will pity them and they'll get all the shitty assignments. Certainly, we've had enough of 'naughty' scoutmasters doing things with kids they're not supposed to. A blacklist and effective calamity protocols are now in place to prevent such business. Scouting should be for everyone, so no bullying and no touching little children in bad places. Being a Groninger, I'm not fond of the south of the Netherlands. People there are different, their mentality is off from our point of view and they're harder to get sense out of. Of course that is a generalization and I'm sure there are plenty of exceptions, but a certain urge to stay up here does persist. That is why I chose Leeuwarden instead of Zwolle to study Nursing.

Ok, it seems to work great then. When you have eight boats floating up to several kilometers apart from each other, checking on alcohol consumption is a little bit more difficult, I suppose.
It is true, people are different in the South. There's a lot of difference between the South and North, and West and East. Having lived in Haaglanden for some time, it still seems the natives walk twice as fast as I do :P I could have chosen the university in Groningen, but then I'd have to almost quit snowboarding. For me, that's a big no-no. And since good student housing in Haaglanden is quite cheap and easy to get compared to Rotterdam, I've made the choice to live there.

Yes, but I'm sure that, if our scouts (those below the age of 16) would be consuming alcohol, they wouldn't do it in quantities which would really impair them the next day, or cause any real harm to their bodies. That'd just be a bit of boyish (or girlish) fun and experimenting, of course we have to say it's wrong, but I really don't think it is.
