June 2012 Election
for
Speaker of the Union
This thread is for information about the election of Speaker for the 29 June to 28 September 2012 term. The Speaker of the Union is one of two executive positions in the SLU. The Speaker as the power of veto and can suspend executive orders. The Delegate Whatsoever Speaker can create an executive order. The Speaker has a tie breaking vote in the Cabinet. The Speaker replaces the position of Secretary of the Open Parliament, and assumes their duties proofreading and formatting bills. They also administer votes on bills. Nominations - Nominations begin June 15 at 00:00 and end June 21 at 23:59
- No self-nominations are allowed
- Nominations occur in this thread
Voting - Voting begins June 22 at 00:00 and ends June 28 at 23:59
- All SLU member states are eligible to vote
- Voting is preferential. Information on voting methods can be found here.
Other - Campaigning will occur in separate threads
- The term starts at June 29 at 00:00
