Vote against the WA Rights of the Disabled Act

The Chancellery of the Septinsular Republic of Houghtonia has issued the following communique explaining its vote against the present motion:

"While the Septinsular Republic supports the intentions of this motion and many of its provisions, it does not allow for advanced directives. Indeed, as written it could allow the attorney to override wishes that were given, in good form, prior to any incapacity. The Septinsular Republic strongly feels that this is an unwarranted abrogation of an individual's civil rights to bodily integrity and autonomy and accordingly votes against the motion

The Chancellery further notes that many of its valued friends in the Social Liberal Union have voted in support of this motion. While the Septinsular Republic is certain that these votes were cast for the best of reasons, it firmly hopes that those states that have voted in favour of the motion will reconsider their votes".

Given in the capital, this 24th of November in the first year of our founding.
