I feel that The Democratic Republic of Ranthloria should be a sizable nation in the northern part of the map near Kropotkinia. the nation is heavily forested with coniferous trees and has a large navy, so it should have a coast. It would be fine if the nation was located in the top right corner right above Kropotkinia, but being located to the West of that nation in a less cramped spot would be preferable, so as to be easier to spot. Ranthloria is also dotted with mountains. The capital is located in the central are of the nation, major cities would be mostly on the coast . Thank you!

Dear map-maker, have you thought about adding major latitudinal lines on the map? Like equator, both tropics and both arctics?

@ranthlor: thanks! I'll get right on it tonight, along with the other nations I've yet to add.
@zmon: yes, me and NAR have talked about it before, but given the fluid nature of the SLU geographically, tropics might not be the best idea. Take south-west Avaerilon's proximity to Phing Phong, for example...

Then where approximately is 60°N? Or is that out of bounds? Poor Zmon is lost in the void?

Hi um im not exactly sure how this works but can I have a small country. One small one on the coast, in the north somehwere and a island about a third the size of it off the coast. the farther away from the coast, the higher the topography is. I want one major city on the island with a river flowing through it (start at the top of the mountain and then go through the city which i want on the coast. And than my capitol on the mainland with pretty much the same thing; river flowing from hills down through country, through the capitol which will also be on the coast. Im sorry i dont exactly know how this works i just looked at the map hehe.

@zmon: since we haven't defined anything like this, you can be anywhere you like and call it 60°N.
@comanici: I'll see what I can do :) You will have to be an approved member state first, though; you will just need to wait until you're added by our Immigration Minister, Grolsch.

Updated! See the first page for the link :) I have also extended the map northwards to accommodate the wishes of a new member :) Oh, and it adds extra space; which we have plenty of for many more nations!

Animo, Mich, Portegria, Maex, Gunir, Laster, Coedlan, and Avaerilon no longer exist ;) You might want to make some more room on the map for newer people.

Leave them as neutral states and let active states fight for the land?

Wouldn't be fair. Michutopia's defenses beat everybody's in the region and we would all be crushed before you could say potato. Also, the thought was that the significant states (i.e. the states that had a major influence on the region) would get a tiny island as a memorial somewhere on the map (<-- Avaerilon, maybe you could do that with Mich). If it's a fight you would like, Zmon, we could schedule a war exercise.

Don't worry, you and Zmon will have a place over the weekend ;D I'm probably too busy to do anything this evening, though I might have a bit of time before I go out at about 2030. Yes, I do need to do something about that. I'm not a huge fan of the "memorial island" idea, but it seems a better idea than anything else, really.

@north America: Check my military, you think I want a war with this? ;) Yeah just wiping them off the map like nothing ever happened seems a bit lame to me. Make them aboriginal nations under protection of another nation? Allow every nation to annex only 1 dead nation?

You can call me NAR, and you don't always have to go by what the trackers say. That's the thing about this game! I spend nothing on defense, according to the same tracker, but that's all at a federal level. I can say that I leave defense funding for my councils and that my militias are on par with other nations' military because they are held to the same standard.
I still think that it wouldn't be right, as they wouldn't be able to "defend" themselves. This map has been expanded so many times already, and eventually it will get to a point where it's like, forget this, some states have to go. I suppose that we also don't want to have states that are humongous next to some really tiny states.

Whatever your military size is, it's definitely bigger than mine! No defense spending on any level :P

Well, you must have some irregulars then for defense. They don't need to be funded, but they'll only be wielding pitchforks and spears. It's better than nothing I suppose. :P

My army just works without pay because they're prisoners that have commited murder. It's like alright you want to murder people? You get to do it as your job!

Is being a soldier the same as being a murderer? Not in my book, unless the soldier kills an innocent civilian deliberately.

no, its not the same. But if you are a murderer you have to go into the Comanci People's Army for at least 4 years.

Avaerilon I certainly don't want to break your balls (/nipples?) for not adding me yet, but let it be known that my spot is claimed. I don't want anyone else to snatch that wonderful piece of land in the cozy, chilly north.

Now be honest, Scotland or Scandinavia vs. Italy or South France. The first are much cozier imo. I've been to Inverness once and it has all the positives: no waves after waves of tourists, no risk of sunburn in the humid asphixiating heat, authentic architecture instead of concrete mastodons.
