Iranian warships won't fire anything and I am just about absolutely sure that if they enter any nation's waters, they will retreat because of military action that would decimate their fleet.

I would be more worried about the whole Israel/Iran problem. Iran might try to go the Gaza Strip, defying the Israeli blockade. Or they could go to Syria, as the article says, in support of the current regime.
