I've had PBR and Coors. Neither did anything for me and Bud isn't much different. I've had Bass and that was pretty good. I would prefer something slightly heavier though

As a European man who gets to drink from the age of 16 (but did so earlier), I would recommend, for a first beer, Murphy's Irish Red , Brand (Dutch), or a German Lager beer.
American beers are compared to Heineken, which makes me sceptical of there being any decent American mainstream beer (I'm sure there must be at least one decent (small) brewer in a country with over 300 million people).
As for food, beer goes well with anything fatty.

Well, if you haven't already had a beer, I certainly wouldn't try any American beers first. Budweiser is basically water + alcohol. Miller's is a little better flavourwise but it's still lacking somewhat.
I would recommend you try and find a real English ale! They have to be drank at room temperature though! Or, alternatively, a crisp European lager. Heineken is generally a good starting point, not the best but not the worst.
Personally, I hold a soft spot for Tuborg. Lovely Danish beer similar to Carlesberg (which is also nice although more for the alcohol rather than the flavour/quality).
Somebody earlier mentioned San Miguel - nice Spanish lager but not big on flavour.
If you want a REAL beer, however, it has to be German! :) Anything will do as they are the best. Without question.

Hm, I've never liked any German beers I've had before, I had some supposedly excellent ones. Guess they weren't to my personal taste. British for me is best, but then alcohol is a very personal thing.

But yes I have had beer. Coors and PBR for American beer and Bass Pale Ale for English. I would want something for more flavor to it I think

Best whisky in the world: Penderyn. Smoother, cleaner, and purer than any other whisky I've tried (and I've tried many). Made in Wales, too!

Although it doesn't seem to be agreed on here, I retain my statement that Belgian beers are the best in the world. Inbev, the largest beer producer in the world, was founded in Belgium in the 14th century. And This Is A List Of Belgian Beers, but keep in mind that Belgium is only about the size of Massachusetts. |
