Esteemed nations of the Social Liberal Union,
We feel honored to be nominated to run for WA Delegate of the region! Since joining SLU, we immediately felt right at home when many of you offered your guidance and friendship. SLU is a region with wonderful people and tremendous potential.
Though we are relatively new, we understand both the fulfilled and unfulfilled potential of the region. Mons has been a fair and stable leader despite the dangers of foreign dangers, but there is always more work to be done.
Since joining, we have been very active in these offline forums in the role playing. However, the activity in our nation role playing has been dawdling. As WA Delegate, we would promote once again the use of our role playing forums such as the Council of Leaders, City of Culture, SLU Parliament, Diplomacy, and the News Room in order to promote community activity and interesting dialogue between our nations. The use of Twitter accounts for our national leaders or media organizations (such as our own @austeraingc) is also an attractive option.
As WA Delegate, we would like to also expand our diplomatic stage. We will work with the Speaker and the regional legislature to ease some of the restrictions in terms of our foreign relations requirements for embassies so that we may be able to expand a little out of our bubble without breaching our own values. We would like to have coherent debates organized by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Domestic Affairs between ourselves and regions abroad to further promote community activity, dialogue, and free thought, and as a medium to promote our values.
As one who had a close mentor, who further attracted myself to get involved, we believe that we must expand our mentorship programs to actively get new members involved with the region, its activities, and politics. We will work with the Ministry of Immigration to push for expansion of this program. We will also seek to continue the current firm but fair policy. We would also like to have Immigration and Foreign Affairs expand its sights to the NS forums to promote regional developments and events, and attract new members.
We would continue the work of predecessors to vote in favor of or against WA resolutions in accordance to the opinions of the people of SLU. We will also push to begin community discussions of our own resolutions to propose to the WA to promote liberal and leftist values.
Finally we would work to ensure continuous engagement on the NS site RMB and to maintain an active Cabinet that is involved with the community.
This is a bold agenda that will require community discussion and participation, compromise, and ambition to reach our region's greatest potentials.
Whatever the result of the impeding Delegate elections, we wish our opponents the best luck.
Sincerely,
James Dartmoor
Ambassador of Austerain to the SLU
