Bonaria for Delegate!
Though I am a fairly recent arrival to the SLU, I am not a new arrival to NationStates. I have played off-and-on over the years, but this nation is one that I am going to maintain.
I once held the WA Delegate's position as a different nation in Eastern Europe, helping to create an organization known as the Eastern European Community to resist a Stalinist's attempt to gain control of Eastern Europe and reform it according to his own tyrannical vision. As another nation in the region known as the Union of Democratic Republics (defunct), I brought back the Socialist Democratic Party, a nearly dead party, and remade it into the main opposition before the region fell apart.
In the SLU, I hope to maintain the course regarding foreign policy: we will only construct embassies and establish contact with regions and nations that promote democracy and social liberalism or social democracy. In terms of domestic policy, I wish to promote the use of CBAMA, and perhaps, if it is the wishes of the region, to create a regional currency. Otherwise, I promote the respect of national sovereignty, assuming that nations act within their boundaries to achieve the goals of democracy and social welfare.
Though I have not authored or co-sponsored any bills in the Open Parliament, that is only because it seems that the SLU has everything under control - I see no major crises. Therefore, I think we can look toward new, innovative legislation, such as the creation of a regional currency. Any suggestions for legislation will, of course, be heard.
Thank you! All hail the Social Liberal Union!
