Helvurium for Domestic Affairs
By Helvurium
I am Helvurium, current Deputy Minister of Immigration and candidate for Minister of Domestic Affairs. I have been a member of this community for well over a year and I’ve made many friends from the SLU.
I am running to revitalise our Domestic Affairs ministry, push our RP to new heights, and curate a tolerant, open, and fair community.

Firstly, I would work to set out that the Social Liberal Union has a zero-tolerance approach to racism, sexism, homophobia, and all other types of bigotry no matter how big or how small. Our community has a diversity of ideas and ideologies, but that doesn’t mean we have to give ground to hate or people who seek to divide us. This is important in how we can represent new people entering our community, hopefully pushing a cause which makes ethnic minorities and other minority members feel more welcome here. People shouldn’t have to worry about facing casual bigotry when they come to our region and my ministry would do all it could to prevent that from occurring.
Secondly, I believe that the Minister of Domestic Affairs needs to work very closely with the Ministry of Immigration to ensure that we retain new members who come to this region. Both Ministries need to work to ensure that any new person feels welcome and that they can easily become a member of our community. It is always daunting to join something new, and I would work to promote regional activities to any of our new members - looking for something that interests and engages them so they can become a true member of our region. I will do all I can to work with out next Minister of Immigration to ensure that this happens and that we are bringing in as many high quality people as we can. I believe that means we need to work with our current Member States too, and make it so they feel able to welcome new people into our community and show off the unique parts of their region they know the most about. We're a community and that means everyone, not just the government, should be involved in bringing in and retaining new people.
Thirdly, I would work to constantly have something going on in the region. From polls, to enhancing the roleplay, to promoting new discussions - there is always something that our community can engage in. This can also take the form of promoting certain topics, allowing Member States to suggest what they'd like to see, and looking at what has worked in the past. We have a great community here and one that can continue to improve as long as we're willing to put in the work. The roleplay can become more interesting and more detailed as it continues on, with the help of Kanoria as our great map curator.
Finally, I hope that I am given the chance to continue serving this region. If elected, I want to work with the rest of our government, and our new Delegate, to ensure that our community is inclusive, that our government is honest, and that you feel welcome. Thank you for your time and I hope you have faith in me to be your next Minister of Domestic Affairs.
